Joe Johnson isn't a star by any sense of the word. He's a slightly above average player given a super-star level contract which is probably in the hall of fame of horrible contracts next to Rashard Lewis and Gilbert Arenas.

He'll continue to do what he does. Play big in meaningless games and disappear come playoff time.

Granted, harden was underwhelming in the Finals, but that shouldn't take away from the dominant performances he had against the Lakers, Spurs, and the games he had throughout the regular season.

I'm just saying, if I'm a GM, right now I'd rather want James Harden or Eric Gordon on my team. Gordon has the ability to be a star in this league, and in my opinion James Harden is a star player.

The reality is arbitrary titles are meaningless, at the end of the day it's about who wins, who plays consistent, and who has better upside. So I'm going with Harden and Gordon.

Maybe Joe Johnson will be better as a Robin to Deron's Batman this year because Joe Johnson as the "best" player on a team is a recipe for mediocrity.

:ohhh: Joe Johnson is the better player right NOW but by a slim margin, but gordan and harden might in the next 2 seasons.I am Okc fan and harden is inconsistent. If you actually watch games i've seen him go off on many occasions in crunch time this past season alone, had many game winning tying shots in the clutch. He was getting all the defensive attention for Hawks and putting up all-star numbers (20+,5,5) for many seasons.Better defensively than them as well can guard 2-4. Has a nice post game and is a very good passer. Gordon and harden might be a little more athletic, He is marginally over-payed and cannot be your best player on a championship team (only kobe lebron, howard durant, paul in the league)He is an Star not a Super-star, So for this next season I would rather have jj than harden, gordan, but for future investment ofcourse you take the younger guys. :ehh:

You overrated your defense. 76ers are a better example from last year for this year's Bulls. Your defense is effective because Rose was your offense. When it was Lucas, you just played harder than everyone every game. That isn't going to fly this year. I don't see one dominant team in the East. Miami is the best team and the most talented but they aren't dominant. In Basketball, most of the ones I've seen lost a step but we will see.

I guess we'll see. I got confidence in Thibs to hold it down till D-Sus comes back. :leostare:

What do you mean by true PG's? Rondo has played well against us but I cant think of any other "true" PG lighting us up.

:rudy: this guy doesn't know what he's talking about . Were teams doubling jsmooth and JJ all year? JJ is underrated but he's also not a allnba player and he's used to isoball now we should believe he's ready to be ray Allen ? I'll believe it when I see it

Those are different players. A lot of what Joe does isn't on the stat sheet but for what Joe does, he excelled last year. Harden stats are overrated because of his role, personnel, and what not.

:snoop: stop it Breh stop it you overrating JJ really . Hes about as good as harden

You're using his contract to make him look worse than what he is, which is unfair because on his own merit, he's still really good.

To the bolded: Harden sucked in the postseason, which is probably Joe's biggest criticism, yet we shouldn't dismiss what Harden does in the regular season, which isn't better than what Joe does. That is in essence what you said.
