The funny thing is the NBA and NFL have extremely high vaccination rates anyway you square it.
They are high compared to the general population and high compared to sporting leagues across the world.
By comparison this is Englands top sports league:
The Premier League has revealed that 13 of the 20 clubs in the top division have squads where fewer than 50 per cent of the players are fully vaccinated against coronavirus.
Premier League offer special reward to clubs with highest number of Covid vaccinations
Far lower vaccination rates but no media circus surrounding it and no one gets asked about their vaccination status at press conferences. This has turned into a complete spectacle disconnected from any policy goals.
What will *tangibly* change for the general public or even NBA employees if the small minority of holdouts get vaccinated? If you are vaccinated (as majority of staff are) then you've got your protection from severe outcomes. Why the fixation then?
Do people think if the NBA gets to 100 percent coverage COVID cases will decline in their home states? This wont happen even if general public gets to high coverage. Its endemic and cannot be eliminated.
