Why do we always miss out on this guy

If we had acquired him in the off-season it would have made more sense because we had some cap space to absorb his deal. But now I can't see how we can acquire him

For these reasons:

1. FIT( moves Jimmy to the 3)
2. SALARY( he makes 8 million so we have to trade equal salary going back)
3. TRADE DEMANDS (Denver wants a 1st rounder for a guy who can bolt next year he only has a player looking option to get paid at 29 years old.)

If Jason Thompson really wants out than good

Won't happen. Salaries don't work and Stan has already gone on record saying that he won't sacrifice the future to get better this season. Johnson has 2 years 20+ mill. remaining. that makes no sense for Detroit. They would get marginly better. but they would piss away any chance of keeping Monroe or acquiring someone (Draymond) this summer.
