Sure, but George needs to be with someone better than him so he can float around like he does. If he attacked more I'd change my mind on him, but he's just so reluctant to actually drive. Drop him on the Celtics and they're cooking, building around him though and there's a cap on how good they can be unless they get someone who is better than him.
You could make that argument for anybody not named LeBron, Curry, Durant and AD though.

And that's not to say that I don't agree with the fact he should be attacking more (he only averages 5.1 drives per game - which by any standard for a star player is poor), but I don't think it's fair to rule him as a player that a team can't build around based on the circumstances. He most certainly isn't the type of plug-in superstar that LeBron is, but I don't see why he can't eventually be the star on a legit contender with the right supporting cast and coaching. He's one of a very few wing players we have in the league that has elite impact on both ends of the floor. His game translates to the PS. I just don't think he's been in the right situation to make the most out of his abilities.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
I don't think it's possible. I'm dying to see him try it in a series when all the cute shyt goes out the window.

I honestly would rather fast forward to April to shut down some of the silly shyt I keep seeing on here and on the internet in general.

He put up 24/5/3 on 40% in the series last year, he's going to take a hit to his numbers regardless :yeshrug:

I think Horford has made all the difference in the world for him, big softie can't rebound but he does give Thomas more room to operate.

It's going to end badly for him when it matters.

Billy King and The Russian gifted them a lifeline.

I just don't see it with him, everyone questions how Giannis will play in a half court setting but I'm more confident he'll be able to turn into a respectable shooter at some point in time, where as if a dude isn't driving during his prime years it's only going to get worse as they age. If he were the main guy on my team I'd be kind of like :ld: yeah you can build a playoff contender around him, but the celling on that team is pretty low if he's your absolute best guy.

He and Kawhi are similar, but Kawhi having the mid post game + turn around is just a god send and something I'd like to see George develop.

I see it like this - would we be talking about Kawhi in the same vein as we do now, if he was in Indiana and PG in SA since Day one? Most probably not. Which is why environment, roster and coaching plays a big part in this. The same talking points that occupy PG's current narrative would be similar (if not more harsh) for Kawhi if he was in a place where he didn't have the aid of a strong, stable structure/system (like he does now). Yet now we've got folk talking about Kawhi being a top-5 player and a franchise centerpiece, and PG simply just a #2 on a contender.

Who knows, to Kawhi's credit having a post game seems like a logical step for him simply because he was an undersized 4 coming out of college. They are where they are now though, and the development of PG has plateaued a bit, he needs to add that mid-post game at some point and just milk it.

What teams are contenders in your opinion? True contenders? The fact is there are 2 contenders for the foreseeable future and the spurs aren't 1 of them. shyt isn't a level playing field at all anymore it's about multiple superstar teams now. The remaining stars of the league will have to team up in order to compete with Golden State and Cleveland. it doesn't matter in which order you label Curry or Durant, #1 or #2 doesn't matter. They on the same team. PG battled and with MIA and held his own, with bums:mjlol:.

You sure that if PG went to the spurs to play with Kawaii in that system with Pop that he would be the clear #2?

What are we talking about here - contenders in the context of this discussion (as it pertains to PG), or contenders this season?

Wait, what?

I'm talking about if PG was in SA and Kawhi was in Indiana (and how they'd both develop and therefore how the public would perceive them) - not on the same team.

Rumor is that OKC worked out Kendrick Perkins and word around town is that Russ told the front office that he'd like to keep Morrow and Adams, the rest can go...

Take that for what it's worth
