Aside from the political fiasco, NFL kind of screwed themselves by catering the rules to a few superstar QB's. Sure, Brady and Manning carried them during that time, but now you get every team forced to play this pass-crazy offense without the quarterback to execute it.

Most NBA teams are watchable to a degree, I envy fans of those teams. Also, I think the hopelessness that normally sets in for fans interested in winning hasn’t hit yet since nobody is running and hiding yet.

NBA would have shyt sewn up if they did promotion/relegation IMHO. No other league could add 10 new teams and not miss a step. They world has the talent, the markets are there, plenty of billionaires have been trying to get teams for years. Amazon, Facebook, Twitter all want in on live sports.
Take the bottom 10 teams, and 10 new markets, there's your 2nd league.
