What does 1 individual have to do with league wide team scoring? :jbhmm:

We talking fundamentals, yet last year teams shot better from the line than they did in 92-93 and shot much higher from three despite taking almost 20 more per game.

You didn't answer whether or not they played defense that year, I can point to other seasons in the 90s as well where the scoring was higher in comparison to the pace than it is today  It can't be both, you can't criticize players today for not playing defense, then turn around and act like the 90s was everyone playing Bad Boys D when the numbers say that isn't even close.

LMAO
SCORING THE SAME AMOUNT OF POINTS
AT THE SAME PACE
WHILE TAKING 18 LESS THREES PER GAME
SHOWS WHO HAD MUCH BETTER FUNDAMENTALS.

How did they have better fundamentals? They were worse shooters going by the freethrow line & 3 point percentage, despite the fact the worst FT shooter in NBA history (Drummond) played last season was the highest FT% in NBA history.

Taking a gang of 2s, and scoring like that says no defense, meanwhile teams today have to take 26 foot threes because the defense would shut down teams playing two interior bigs.

And you have embraced the shooting, as seen by your refusal to accept Embiid into your heart and placing a jumpshooting big above him :wow:

He's leading the league in post ups :skip:

HE CATCHES IT WITH HIS BACK TO THE BASKET, FACES UP
AND TAKES A PULL UP
OR OFF THE DRIBBLE JUMP SHOT
IN MOST OF THOSE POST UPS.

HES A JUMP SHOOTER.

WATCH GAMES, NOT STATS.

BX, NYC
i.e. that ugly thing y'all call defense is kept to a minimum
:comeon: :snoop:

That B.S. you saw in the 00’s wasn’t all defense. It was low quality, snail paced iso ball with shyt spacing, a bunch of long midrange shots and shot clock draining post ups and an inferior pool of players 1-400.

This years defensive rating is on par with most year in the early to mid 90’s before the dead ball era of the late 90’s and early 00’s.

He's hit jump hooks with both hands, you wanting him to be Shaq and docking points when he's more like Dream & Duncan.

BOTH OF THOSE DUDES HAD THE ABILITY TO MAKE JUMPSHOTS
BUT WERE ABSOLUTELY BEASTS IN THE POST
1ST AND FOREMOST.

EMBIID ISNT THAT YET.

HES BIGGER THAN BOTH.

The offenses weren't great, but you could have a low scoring game based off defense playing a major role. It was also easier to frustrate your opponent defensively. You can't convince me that a 120-115 featured really good defense throughout. At best you get them in certain segments. You could build a team primarily off of your defense and be successful. Now it doesn't even matter if GS can hit 4 threes in a 2 minute span and sink you.

You don't have to convince me about iso ball (iso ball only works when the right players do it. Too many people think they're capable of it). Offenses have improved, but you also see rudimentary defensive breakdowns that are inexcusable at the NBA level. Part of it is that a young player now doesn't see the incentive to play D when a) they're not handing out ridiculous amounts of money for it and b) they're looking at the rest of the league and wondering why someone would ask them to lock in for 48 minutes.
