I like that they analyze without knowing every little detail. It comes off as barbershop talk with some cats that played in the league. All the crazy serious super analytical statistic driven analysts take the fun out of the sport for me. Trevor Noah had a funny joke about US sports and it's love for numbers.

That doesn't justify being outright ignorant of the game. Yall stay making excuses as if its not barbershop talk, it's niqqas in white lab coats sports talk.

smh

I've been saying it for years.

Worst coverage in sports. These dudes don't even like the league they used to play in or its players.

Who the fukk allows that to continue? Garbage

Its like they're scared that they're going to be surpassed and forgotten about. Other sports do q great job of blending the past and present and future. Nba media just bigs up the past, overly criticizes the present for not winning every year and not being like the past, and shyts on the future saying they'll never hold a candle to the past.
It's all around garbage.
And not even mentioning they can't grow past the mj, Bron talk.
I always compare the NBA to wrestling in they'll only be as big as their biggest star cause they don't grow the game beyond that. They put it all on one player to carry the league

.
The further away current players go from having respect for people like Shaq and Charles, and the more people begin to take notice of their poor analysis and straight up wrong takes, they're gonna find themselves sitting at a table thinking they're about to negotiate a new contract when in reality the producers are really there to talk about "transitioning to a new era of Inside the NBA

:mjlol:

Dismiss great business sense so you can be validated by internet nerds bruh..

In the era of First Takes, Undisputed, etc... this is the one that grinds your gears? :dead:

Inside the NBA has been using pretty much the same schtick for 15 years now for a reason

I actually like Gilbert in this scenario. He's one of the few players looking to the next generation and having convos with them. He had criticism of D Mitch too that he's strong going to a certain hand. But never does anything the other way. But D Mitch took it well cause Gil made it clear he was telling him so he can improve.

I'm listening to Eddie Johnson on Sirius XM- NBA Channel and he's pretty much co-signing Shaq talkin' shyt just like an old vet would. And as he continues to talk it's plain as day.. the old heads are mad at the money these younger guys are making compared to what they made. That's it. That's the whole point of this. Its not even about where they're at or not at in their game play. Its all about the big contracts they're getting point blank

KD :salute:

KD don't fukk with Shaq either:

“JaVale, he works extremely hard. He’s come in here and done so much for us as a player. And he only wants to be respected like any other player.

“And I understand Shaq works for a company that wants him to do that type of stuff and make fun of players. And it’s cool and funny, but when you just keep doing it time and time and time again for no reason, and then a guy actually disagrees you and you threaten him … I didn’t know cops could threaten civilians like that. So it’s definitely childish. But that’s what they want from these stars and these retired players — to feud with the guys that’s playing now and to make arguments and disagreements. But if I was JaVale, I’d feel the same way. It’s childish.”

“Shaq wants to make a joke about it, but if it was him in that position, he wouldn’t feel the same way. He’ll call him a bum and all this. He was such a great player, obviously, but still, everybody can’t be Shaq. He’s trying to make his money and enjoy the game of basketball, and the perception is now that he’s a dumb player because he made mistakes.

“Shaq was a shytty free throw shooter and he missed dunks and he air-balled free throws. He couldn’t shoot outside the paint. He didn’t have those skills. He was bigger and stronger than everybody. And he still was a great player, but you had your flaws too as a player. And you played on five or six teams, too. So it’s not like you’re just this person center. You had your flaws, too.

“So like I said, I didn’t go on Twitter and threaten civilians like that, so I’m glad you’re getting challenged.”
