Name thing is part of the jokes and highly relatable if you hang around mid aged black men
I had no idea who Christian Wood was until last year when he started being talked about for the most part
The show is marketed to casuals and is supposed to be relatable and funny. If you want a show where they talk about the 10th man on the Kings or know what city Deni Avdija from it's cac shows that specialize in that like dunc'd on :yeshrug:

But why does it have to be either or, why can’t there be a balance? Humor & good to great analysis can coexist.

Like when NFL Gameday was at its peak with Eisen, Irvin, Deion, Mooch, etc. or even the version with Deion, Shannon, LT and the goofy white guy their show was fun to watch but also they knew what they were talking about.

It’s been said on multiple occasions that sometimes Chuck doesn’t even watch the games they’re covering. He’ll go in the green room and watch NCIS or some other show.

He's right, not a good look for a broadcast partner to present the game that way. You would never see an NFL broadcast with host/commentators saying they don't know the players or saying current players aren't good and/or not to watch the game like Shaq/Chuck do on the regular.
