Damn I just realized they both timed it perfectly…if they play in the last game tomorrow they hit the 65…and the game is kind of meaningless…that’s kinda wild

And from what I’ve read, there’s a provision that allows you to play 62 games if you have a season ending injury. Don’t known if it’s regular season ending, cause the voting begins before the playoff. So both Cade and Luka should have no problems right?

But in true CBA fashion, it was a bunch of covenants in the provision. So who really knows

It seems a lot of y'all are completely missing the point that a portion of these players are either going against medical advice or what their bodies are telling them just to meet this 65-game threshold. I'm still on the fence about this rule change, as we've already seen someone like Luka who ended up suffering a likely season-ending injury and who knows what effect this rule change had on that.

If it didn't exist, there's a world where the Lakers are more careful with his workload and he doesn't get injured.

Same logic here. No one is voting for guys hat played 35 games. Players that managed to play a good majority of the games should get all-NBA, MVP, DPOY, all-defense, etc.

Shaq would lose 4 All-NBA selections (2 first teams) if this rule was in effect. It doesn't make sense, and there isn't a need for it since the voters already took into account games played when they made their selections. Kawhi played 56 games this season and has been phenomenal. He should be all-NBA even though he didn't play a random asspulled number of 65 games

EDIT: The only time a voter tried to make a player All-NBA when they didnt really deserve it was in 2021, when Jalen Rose said he voted for Kyrie. Kyrie only played like 30 games. This is just an example of Jalen being a dunce

Shaq also was lazy, purposely sat out, and was the All-NBA C because he was the only one left. IMO 65 is too low, and it should've been 70. And there were 2 Gs, 2Fs & a C...so a lot of people wouldn't have made it. These people are purposely only playing 65 games, just to be eligible....meaning if they could play 50 and still be rewarded, they would be.

Bottom line, there are numerous games players sat out 2-4 weeks into the season that if they played, would've put them past the league minimum, so who's fault is it?
