NC was blue until people thought it was cool to stop caring again. Which is the exact issue with stuff like this.
Nobody cares when some 24 year old has since failed and is in the hood. The system and everything around is trash. But whatever. They only care when he gets shot. Then its time to get up.
And with the profitable/bullshyt trend of false claiming on the rise again, I find myself more pissed off than ever that I have to wait and see if people are full of shyt like those girls up North that said they got jumped over racial stuff.
So like... especially knowing the area, I'll be cynical. I'll wait. Because it doesn't add up on either side yet and "stand up NC" can kick fukking rocks. The amount of people putting in real work in NC been on a steady decline for the past 8 years. Its dumb as fukk how people say "stand up" after a shooting... where the hell were yal before?
kinda misguided posting.
Firstly, the homie was in N2N, actively working on his GED and counselors there can vouch for that. .. So people cared. Secondly, aside from a voter turnout standpoint, NC (in the Triad, Triangle and Char/Meck) has never been as bustling with non profits that have boots on the ground to help those in lower socio economic classes. Agencies in those areas have been winning grants left and right and philanthropic foundations are steering initiatives to provide grant money to those agencies.
county collaborative groups in the big3 MSA districts are meeting monthly to draft legislative agendas and develop and implement plans of action for service gaps.
Again if you're talking about voter turnout, then that's a different story. I can't really recall the last presidential election but I think NC went red after going blue 4 years prior. And yeah, NC will probably go red again.
In terms if in-the-trenches work tho, NC is as strong if not stronger than it has ever been.
And again, shout to my SC potnas. Not to sound ignant, but since thread is veering that way, I know first hand how y'all get down. Always kinfolk.
