We have already created simulation lives. People don't realize that a simulated "life" is not going to have the same properties as the creators. With video games like "The Sims" or "Madden" or countless others we have already successfully created worlds where the beings make choices based on a set of principles, where outcomes are seemingly random within a given set of limitations, where actions have reasonable and expected consequences.

Just like "The Sims" doesn't have all of the properties that we have, we may not have all of the properties of whatever creator beings created our simulation. Shyt is spoooky.

I don't know if I would call Madden a simulation. Hell the sims either for that matter, as if you let the sims alone long enough...well it doesn't generally end very good as they are shytty decision makers. Now that I think about it.

Is it? It's really not far fetched if you think about it. At a certain point in time computers become powerful enough to run complex simulations. Which is where we are headed with quantum computing. So if a civilization much more advanced than us reached this point 10,000 years before we did it's likely that our world would be a computing civilization they are running.

Think about it like this. Someone played the sims so long, that the sims themselves got to a technological level to create a game of sims themselves. Rinse, Wash, Repeat.

if you have ever played the sims then you would know you can't leave them to live life on their own. You end up coming back to a sim with a house full of pee, throw up, trash, water puddles, baby crying or is on fire, and the wife walking out wanting a divorce.
