Intelligence and morality are two different things and humanity doesn't drive in the same circles as scientific curiosity/discovery.

Intelligence and morality go hand in hand. Human beings have the social construct of rights and lions don't. That's due to intelligence.
We have strict rules regarding experimentation now. It goes on the basis of consciousnessmess and the ability to feel pain.
For our descendants to be mass murders for scientific discovery would be a lack of intelligence.
There are millions of other ways to reconstruct history

True. But I've read that theory doesn't only imply that it be our decendents doing the simulation. The "creators" of the simulation have even been mentioned to be extraterrestrial in origin.Ancient Code
We would have to operate by the strict rule of acting purely as an observer, and I do not trust human beings to act only in this capacity

human beings were building pyramids 20,000 years old, how come we haven't evolved into super saiyan 3 yet

We are an accident of nature...
Like I said, we are orphans of nature...
Nature fukked up and created a lifeform that can ponder its own existence and utlimately its purpose. While other animals are perfectly fine with fukking, eating, shytting, suffering and ultimately dying. We aren't.
Suffering causes us to find a silver lining in our existence...
So we create gods and religions, and morals and organization...so we can purpose...
Serve your god

Serve your fellow man
Serve your family
And we can at least argue away serving your country, serve your fellow man and serve your family...one thing we can't do is deny a being far more intelligent than us that created us because look at how we treat children or even pets...just because we are higher on the food chain...so beyond us, there's some being that we gotta shut up and listen to...that can tell us what to do
So we look for something we can't deny...we went from gods, to ancient aliens now super fukking humans with super fukking computers...that can recreate us...
We are free because there is no purpose to our lives, we are just here...but then we shackle ourselves with religion, morals and organization...because the idea of being alive because some gasses got mixed up and shyt exploded, then this ball for fire turn into dirt and then there was water, then there was a sponge in the water that evolved and billions of years later there is us...is absurd.
Rationally, there's no point to this shyt...we are like every other animal, except we are too smart for own good.

If this theory were true the creators wouldn't be stupid or evil just indifferent. They would see us as no different than we see video game characters, only without the interactive element. You and I don't really care when we kill characters in these games because no matter how sophisticated they get in our minds they aren't real. Because they aren't real to us what happens to them doesn't matter to us, that doesn't make us evil.
If this were a simulation it would likely be something they started then let run and observed with minimal interference for what ever purpose. I also doubt it would run at real time for the creators so the multi-billion year existence of our universe may have been an experiment of a few months so far.
My overall feelings on this theory is that it doesn't matter if it's true or not. As far as we are concerned this is the real world and we cannot reach another one. Proving this to be true wouldn't change day to day life, wouldn't change who our families are and how we feel about them and wouldn't change the fact that we die. If finding out this world isn't "real" would have a profound effect on you, you need a different perspective.

Do you know what it means to be GOD? Not President or Emperor...GOD. A God doesn't have to give standards...the standards are coded into his creation.
I've always found this shyt to be really fun and cool. I'm sure part of it is just that I don't know enough to know anything about this, but it's still fun to read legitimate science somewhat back this up.
Like James Gates finding a near duplicate of a computer error embedded within supersymmetric equations of string theory, or that light slit test that showed that photons or whatever only react a certain way when they're being observed.
I'm sure if I understood those kind of things more I would see some flaws in it but it's still fun to read about
