I actually think this was close in terms of records on paper but Johnta took this off gameplay and his actual battle skills. When it;s close things like taking too long in between records and looking/feeling flustered counts for everything.

Johnta won the battle but on paper this shyt was a 114-114 bout.

Ne-Yo's sequencing lost this for him, you can't half step against classics.. You have to hit him with your classic too to at least tie the round.

Mack Wilds - Own It vs. Ginuwine - Stingy
Jeezy & Ne-Yo - Leave You Alone vs. Bow Wow & Ciara - Like You
Ne-Yo - Mirror vs. Chris Brown - Poppin

Legends though.

yeah Neyo could have left out that Mack Wilds and Mirror joints and could have played more of other people's hits

Before the Battle, I would've given it to Ne-Yo hands down. But now, gotta give it to Johnta. I knew about the hits he wrote in the 2000's, but didn't know he was responsible for some of the biggest hits of the 90's.
nikka wrote "Sweet Lady" for Tyrese AND "I don't Wanna" & "Come Over" for Aaliyah :wow:
Not to mention: The song of the decade "We Belong Together" for MC :noah:

Not really. Ne-Yo didn't really go into the mine. The Aaliyah songs that Johnta brought out were light work aside from "I Don't Wanna". Tim had multiple classics with Aaliyah while she was alive. Johnta out here with posthumous songs.

Johnta had more of a cheat code because aside from "I Don't Wanna", his other Aaliyah records were released after she died and "I Miss You" was more of a memorial for Aaliyah that it's easy to lose meaning of the original, intended concept and theme of the song.
Fam. Johnta is better. Lol

lets not downplay Ne-Yo, he held the 2000s down. Yes, Johnta had the advantage but it wasnt a landslide for him, Ne-Yo held his own and won a fair amount of rounds....but yes, I have to give the win to Johnta

This post is too true. Given what happened to Aaliyah, "I Miss You" became more of a tribute song. Who knows if she would have even released it as a single. Either way, since we are dealing with reality instead of hypothetical, Neyo had to contend with the emotion of those Aaliyah songs. He needed to come back harder, specifically on those tracks.

Ne-Yo is dope as fukk. But Johnta has that versatility that Ne-Yo lacks.
