True true. I meant more like when you've been living in those areas for years, you notice how even thousands of people moving can affect things. Central Texas has the largest military base with associated cities that which itself attracts transplants, along with Austin and other areas. The numbers have exploded around this area to where they are having to re-do infrastructure to accomodate numbers.

my wife and I never wanted to stay in NY, we were born and raised here. We had a 3-4 year plan originally. We Owned a house in queens, took advantage of the pandemic, was able to stop paying mortgage for like 8 months due to Covid relief (didn’t need it) and was able to sell the house that I bought for $430K in 2017 for $610K this year. They were building brand new houses in new neighborhoods in Florida and jumped on the opportunity and things kinda just flowed together. Better weather, better schools, way better extracurricular activities for students, sports, clubs etc at schools. Was able to transfer my job. Cost of living is cheaper, so my wife is now a stay a home mom, being able to spend more time with the kids is invaluable to their development. No need paying for babysitters. We bought a bigger house then the one we had in queens for cheaper and it’s brand new. My parents retired to Florida a couple years ago, so it’s was easy for us to transition, staying with them and it gives them more time with their grandchildren.
