You could say the same thing about the NBA. Only a couple of franchises have never made the NBA Finals.

Yet we try to talk about how one sport has so much parity and the other one doesn't :mjlol:
Maybe has to do with the fact that lakers and Celtics have over a 3rd of the fukking titles

Bulls won 6 in a decade

Then lakers won 5 the next

Pretty easy to see why they say parity happens a lot more in football

Those 2 teams have also been around forever.

Look at the NFL and the teams with the most championships. It's very top heavy. After the Top 5 teams, shyt's mighty empty down there :francis:
breh...over 35 years (1980-2015) 10 NBA teams have won a 'chip :francis: and 2 of the 3 that won it exactly once came in last 5 years (mavs, dubs)

in contrast, 11 NFL teams have won a SB over last 15 years (less than twice the timespan)

:russ: you got it backwards like shyt.. IN THE LAST 25 SEASONS, THE LAKERS BULLS AND SPURS HAVE 16 CHIPS......since 99, the finals have had the spurs or lakers 13 out of 17 times...thats lack of parity

If you're not aware, that's AFC representation in the Superbowl since 2003.

If the Texans fukk up JJ Watt and DeAndre Hopkins' prime and don't go at least to the damn Super bowl in
2017-2020 then we ain't ever winning a Lombardi Trophy back in Houston.:scust:
The only players in the league for whom a team can say they are "wasting his prime" by not getting to the Super Bowl is a franchise QB.

Houston has no franchise QB, and has never had one really. Having a great DE and WR doesn't mean shyt, and will remain that way. They'd be a better team tomorrow if they traded JJ Watt for a great QB

yeah having von miller had abosutely nothing to do with broncos SB win, all they had to have was a qb who threw for 9 tds and 17 picks in 2015 :ld:
maybe houston can find a franchise qb who can be last qb in the league in qb rating, int% and ay/a like that :jbhmm:

Has it been like that the last 40 years

:comeon:

Sure:

75: steelers
76: steelers
77: raiders
78: cowboys
79: steelers
80: steelers
81: raiders
82: niners
83: redskins
84: raiders
85: niners
86: bears
87: giants
88: redskins
89: niners
90: niners
91: giants
92: redskins
93: cowboys
94: cowboys
95: niners
96: cowboys

so 5 teams won 20 of the 21 superbowls then after this era was done we switched off to a few qbs dominating the afc.

:what: breh can you count ? there are 7 different teams in this timespan you listed

then after this era was done we switched off to a few qbs dominating the afc.

:what: peyton nor brady nor ben were 'dominating' the afc right after 96. this didnt happen till mid 2000s

starting qbs for afc teams in SB until 2001:
bledsoe
elway
elway
mcnair
dilfer

and lol at arbitrary cutoff of 21 superbowls just to make your point :russ: realize when you cherry pick like that, youre just hurting your argument. trying to fit facts to your point, not the other way around is pitiful

The parity is only effect when it comes to making the playoffs which many of these teams without a ring have done recently. But when it comes to actually winning rings that post from bruh above that shows the Qb's in the Super Bowl the last 12 years says it all.

My bad, I miscounted. Still 6 teams winning 20 of the 21 superbowls in a one and done sport that should maximize chance, opposed to a 7 game series, isn't exactly a great look. The whole saying in football is "any given week" when that really wasn't the case. I also know other QBs were in the superbowl from my cutoff to 2001, I'm not denying that, but there's huge stretches where there is absolutely no parity.

my point was there's just long stretches where there's no parity. the peyton/big ben/brady domination technically started in 02 when brady won his first superbowl and then only the ravens/raiders made the superbowl after that point outside of those three guys.
