Wade is on record saying Bulls were his only other option if Heatles didnt happen. We got a all star in his prime in Boozer. We got Pau & Wade recently, IDGAF how old they are, we signed HOF'ers in FA. We were the only team Melo was seriously considering other than staying in NY.

If you can't get the kings ransom for jimmy, bulls would just be better off falling back another year, adding a couple of players like Jeff teague and rudy gay on some 1+1 deals, stockpile assets in lopez trade, sign and eventually trade niko, see about getting a pick for valentine, then open all that cap space in 2018 with jimmy being the only one under contract next off season.Understand & realize that we're fuk'd regardless on both ends..

Then seeing what's up with the cleveland situation. If lebron bounces put up all your assets to get Irving. Jimmy loves kyrie, Kyrie loves jimmy, be the team that facilitates that union. If you pull off that trade you still have max cap to offer another free agent.
If the kyrie thing doesn't pan out, you sign 2 max players next off season and use your assets you stock piled to add the depth.
See, you have to consider that this kings ransom is not going to come for jimmy, and you have to have another plan if it doesnt. Otherwise you will just be complaining about blowing it up and that is how teams get low balled and we end up trading jimmy for a protected 1st rd pick and a prospect which ain't nothing. Teams are not trying to help us. If it was that easy to just add a ton of quality youngsters and hope to flip them for a star down the line then all these bottom teams would be doing it. But when you suck and got a team full of youngsters no proven all star talent wants to join you, unless you in a unique situation like lakers who in a state most these players want to live.
By time this is said and done, posters will swear the bulls turned down a kings Ranson for jimmy, when the truth is, that kings ransom was never on the table in the 1st place.

I understand this. It doesnt discount that we signed these players. Its pretty clear we are on the short list of FA destinations in the league
I know I'm in the minority here, but I'd take Jimmy over anyone in this draft. We won't get much more then a top 5 pick and maybe a scrub or two or a 2nd round pick for Jimmy. This front office doesn't have a history of making strong trades that favor us. I'd prefer we build around Jimmy.

If we are not a free agent destination, then we need to hire a FO that makes us a free agent destination, otherwise you will just be drafting another player with potential and failing to build around them too.

Your not alone, I'd prefer to stay competitive, but if a team drops the kings ransom, we almost have to say yes to it.
Thing is, some are posting like that kings Ransom is there and we saying no to it, instead of realizing the kings ransom is not there at all. So unless we ready to rebuild on a mediocre package, gotta have a plan in place as well to build with jimmy too.
