Need adivce: My goal is too LOSE weight, so should I only focus on cardio?

No offense, but that's simply not true. I once lost 40lbs in 2 1/2 months from running 5 miles(1100 burn cals) on the elliptical alone.:yeshrug:. Went from 28 bf to 18 bf.

5 miles per day :huhldup:

I gained it back cause I got complacent. My ego got big from the love I was getting and stopped doing what I was doing previously.

that happened to me and everyone noticed that shyt :upsetfavre:

im looking :flabbynsick: but ill bounce back sooner than later

i want it to be known that doing cardio isnt "bad" by anymeans and it creates a deficit

it just doesnt preserve muscle, so using it in place of lifting doesnt work

if you lift and can still do cardio do so

the issues to be careful of is overestimating how much of a deficit your cardio creates and then end up "eating out of it" and not being in a deficit at all(which is common)

id assume the minimum calories burned during cardio sessions and never go over a 300-500 cal dietary deficit

i gotta maintain muscle by lifting weights, which also turns fat to muscle and speeds up metabolism and burns more calories at rest :pachaha:

i know the game, i just get VERY discouraged when i dont see results as fast as i want to :upsetfavre:

if you want exact results, follow an exact method

find your maintenance(as little activity as possible)
subtract 500 from it, eat that with atleast your LBM in protein everyday(IE 140-160g)
lift 3 times a week

guaranteed to lose 1lb or more a week :leon:

the better your lifting, and progression the more likely you are to keep muscle or even gain some if you are new

I was doing mon-fri. It really helps when you got to a gym with fine women there :takedat:.

I would spend the max amount of time on the elliptical (70mins) on like lvl 17.

And my goal would be to burn at least 1k cals.
I think I was only eating like 1300 cals a day.

My LBM is 187 and I plan on getting there by February 17. I'll have to lose like 15lbs a month

I just realize that if you have the opportunity to get in the best shape of your life, why not do it?

I quit smoking weed last week cause I'm serious. that's what primarily made me gain all that weight in the first place.

im smoking tonight lol but i quit drinking, fast food, fried food, candy, etc for this reason alone

i do have cheat days once in a while and it feels :ahh::ahh::ahh:

Yeah I think I quit temporarily. I dont have no urge to smoke tho. Next step is to cut out high fructose corn syrup and drink more water.

Bou to hit the gym now matter of fact :myman:

It's lowerbody workout, basketball, elliptical and Sauna today

If I post on here before 9pm est time again today, I cheated :sadcam:

I only eat about 2000-2200 though ... im never hungry enough to eat that much breh :noah:

I've always been stocky with broad shoulders. I'm 5'9 with a 6'4 wingspan

i think 187 would put me @ 3% BF right?
