not really if you got the kinda budget where you'd even consider a 2K car then you probably can't afford the monthly payments on a 10K car and most def don't have the cash for a 10K car.

most people's first car cost under $1000. i'm talking about doing a Dave Ramsey style trade up plan where you cop a junk car and drive it till you get the money to trade up to the next car.

i got a $1800 beater right now and i'm gonna drive it till it dies. i haven't paid a dime to fix it and while its having issues now if all it cost me was $1800 and it last a year it was worth it to me. i just came off paying $421 car payments monthly and the insurance was an extra hundred and that car was a 14K car that didn't have issues when i bought it but started having them like 6 months later.

if you're really concerned about pumping money into a car then any used car you cop is gonna take your money. nobody gonna fix up a car to sell it.

What kind of car?

gas mileage... also its really about being able to afford insurance and parts for when it breaks etc. So if you have the income for that otherwise I wouldn't buy a car.

If you can only afford a 2k car you're typically not going to have the money to pay for insurance and everything else.

TBH Its kinda what winb was saying. This is probably going to be for a year and then if the car goes to shyt I just open a zipcar account and roll with that. But legal fees? nikka wtf you been gettin mixed up in? lol

Why don't you move to another part of bk with better access to train if you money coming in if you have extra get a zip car account. That's what I would do. As far as the later you don't want to know. :aicmon:

Nah lol just because Im buying a 2k car doesnt mean I'm not gonna be able to pay for insurance. My pops already told me to put it on his name for like 90 a month and I work so Im scr8 in that regard. And nah I dont live in BK I live in Queens and I'd prob wanna move by Long Island City since Brooklyn is going to get VERY expensive next year just by the Nets moving there. I'm going to try and move closer to more subways though. I prefer the subway over the bus tbh. I just feel the subway is faster.

i'm basically in the same situation. ive been primarily lookin at '97-'99 Buick Century and buicks in general. you still see a bunch of them the rode. jeep cherokee is a good reliable suv i had 1999 i sold on craiglist for 2k. only problem is they are gas guzzlers and not too roomy. you wouldn't be comfortable in a jeep. you gotta also watch out for the "death wobble" which is the reason i sold mine. if reliability is your main focus though i would recommend 90's jeep cherokees.
