Mobile Core i5 is dual core and sometimes quad core whereas the core i7 is quad-core with more processing speed and more cache..i5 is more energy efficient. It is still a powerful chip since it supports hyper threading which allows each core to break down processing loads into two separate threads allowing a dual core i5 processor to work like a quad core. It also support turbo boost which allows the processor to ramp up processing speed under large workload. What big of a difference is i5 vs i7?
i7 is more powerful but also more expensive and is only needed for process intensive stuff
...going to commit to one tonight
Your money is better spent on RAM or storage. Those are the more common bottlenecks.
