I actually remember downloading Country Grammar off one of those p2p places when downloading online first got popular, might have even been Napster or audiogalaxy, a good year before the song really took off. I was kind of tripped out to hear it on the radio way after the fact. That was when I first realized I could download a bunch of songs and sell burned mixes in HS.

He grinded real hard with the music and it ended up paying off big time.

Country Grammar debuted at #3, not #1.

He was on a major too and being promoted as "the guy" from the midwest, so it wasn't really out of "nowhere" either.

Which is even more impressive, since it peaked at #1 months later

He received MAJOR backlash from that Tip Drill video and his career wasn't the same since

fake ass bytches at Spelman.

mad at some bullshyt video that only came on after hours when Atlanta is the strip club capital :snoop: causing campus-wide commotion about it instead of the bone marrow charity organization he came there to speak about.

Country Grammer is a personal classic. That album had bangers.

City Spud was spitting nice on there too...reminded me of Ma$e

When nelly just dropped I was hating. I was on the whole "the fukk is this nursery rhyme bullshyt". But on the low when that E.I. song used to come on the radio and nelly said
"I drive fastly, call me Jeff Gord-on
In the black SS with the naviga-tion"

I used to mash the gas on my car and be like

its amazing to me how everybody and everything becomes credible as time goes by, sh!t is hilarious. when nelly was actually out i cant think of one person who didn't think he was pure garbage and a mockery, lol.

Nah, I knew people who fukked with him. My cousin was his biggest fan :snoop:
