Nah, he was just saying he didn't have a co-signer when he was blowing up. Obviously he didn't mean throughout his career because that would be silly; of course he would be collaborating with others as his career went along and and he got bigger. I think the point of what he was saying is getting lost in the sauce here.

Not according to interviews Nelly's done before. :yeshrug: He claimed Diddy wanted Nelly for the feature, and Nelly pushed back that he would only do it if he could put Murph on. Which is the most likely scenario anyway. Why would Diddy be asking for a Murphy Lee feature for a song like that to be the lead single for a soundtrack?
Yeah, I was wrong. He just said Murphy was gonna be big.

or welcome to atlanta remix lol

JD, Puff, Snoop and Murphy Lee
Murphy's issue was Chris Brown's issue as an adult artist. His features are a million times better than his own shyt. Even Breezy best shyt is like one verse with features.

You must not have watched tv then

All of Luda early appearances on shyt like rap city they made sure to mention Scarface/Def Jam South

Same for magazines
Yeah they always mentioned the fact that he was the first rapper signed to Def Jam South.

I never him shyt about Def Jam South being hyped up or even labeled as Scarface’s label. Just always correlated back to the original Def Jam :manny:

Define co-sign? They fell out at one point and it wasn’t until Jon went off on his own is when he found success
Breh, who you wit was a hit in every confederate state atleast and that was in '96 so his success was while he was on with Dupri ..and then he did the bass style compilations in '96, '97 and '98, under Dupri...

Uhhhhh....Chris Brown's last solo album from 2019 is better than most of the guest features he done the last 4 years or so.

It's not fair to say Luda had a co-sign because he was signed to Def Jam South and say Nelly did it all on his own when he was signed to Universal, like that was some indy label.

Luda was not on anybody's shyt or radar until he dropped his own music. The first major single from Back For The First Time featured a no name in Shawnna, not someone like Foxy Brown or Lil' Kim. To me, he has the same claim as Nelly from that time period.

-The only part of this I really question's who're these young dudes he's saying sound like him? None of these auto tune & mumble rappers sound like Nelly to me & I wouldn't credit him with their style/sound.

He's right. Also they relegating Ja to a RocAFella affiliate now :gucci:
-Ja was gonna blow up regardless but that Rush Hour stimulus with "Can I Get A" on the soundtrack paved the way. He was honestly more known & talked about for his comparison & relationship with DMX than with Jay. Part of his whole marketing & image leading up to his debut was to separate himself from DMX.
