defund the police means to stop overfunding them and to put that money into infrastructure, education, government programs and ACTUAL police training.

Heres the problem:

Poverty and crime are so deeply embedded in the social fabric of america that the cops are just small but useful idiots and pawns in the maintaining of the status quo. You can incetivize good behavior and sanction police misconduct, but its meaningless and even self destructive without holistic community repair initiatives.

This is because the people who control the cops have no real solidarity with opprssed communities. And the Production style head busting is how the cops justify their existence. Theyre terrified of shifting to a more quality based means of policing because itd mean the end of careers for many of them AND THIS IS BY DESIGN to pit us against them.

And even the politicians and cops with the best of intentions and intelligence get either chased out or become careerists who have to play the game of ineffcient stat juking (The Wire showcases this perfectly)
