I honestly feel the sneakers today have too much grip, especially when combined with the sticky pads players use before entering the game.

I don't remember dudes tearing their ACLs like this in the 90s.

I asked the same thing yesterday. It seem like the last 2 or 3 years ACL's been ripping like wet paper

Did you all see how it happened though? He ran into an object.. Had nothing to do with anything.. he was running full speed and full court to block a layup

It's just fukked up to think that's the very last game Noel will ever play for us. :to:

Is this certainly going to hurt his draft stock?

This kid can care LESS about his college team right now. It's about dreams and aspirations of being a professional basketball player..his career. If you care as much as you show..then you wouldn't care about his college career either........since his basketball career in general is now in jeopardy.

Screw his college career..this is about his potential NBA career, and providing for his family.. this hasn't effected you in any way shape or form my friend.

Of course this hurts his draft stock..a torn acl or mcl is never a good thing, coming back 100 percent is never a guarantee...guys who have pulled it off have gotten to the point of being CLOSE to the explosiveness they once had..yet it's never the quite same.

True. Feel bad for the kid, but with or without him, UK was going to the NIT.

we were back in the top 25 this week... we had 3 tough games left at arkansas and mizzou/florida at home... we would of won one of those games at least and would have been at worse a 10 seed

uk was on the bubble 3 weeks ago they were a 8-9 seed after last nights loss... Losing noel moves them down a line. If UK only loses 3 more games they will still be in, if they lose 4 on the bubble, if they lose 5 they are out

also Noel did have an insurance policy... john wall/cousins/knight/davis/mkg/noel all had insurance policies in case of career ending injuries

this isnt discussed much cause Cal is public enemy #1 cause he bucks the system and actually cares about these kids and doesnt try to milk as many years possible out of them...Insurance policy would be spun as somehow being wrong by the cac fakkits like emmert/thamel/forde etc... that lead the charge against him

Horrible, the kid should have been allowed to enter the draft out of HS.
I've never seen your side on this...or are you just trolling?

I think Kids should be allowed to enter the NBA straight from high school also.

nah...its just because there is that much more media attention to sports now that it appears to be that way.

Nah, it has definitely risen in athletes over the last 10 years. Kids and women get it a ridiculous rate now.

Damn :to: one of the most helpless feelings in the world is those first few minutes after tearing an ACL, you know it's bad immediately. Luckily they aren't career killers how they used to be so he could/should be ok in time, its just very brutal to be patient while mending.

I'm not trying to see an influx of high school kids who think they're ready to play in the NBA only to spend years glued on the bench when they could have earned valuable playing time at a university.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?

I think kids coming out of HS ultimately hurts the quality of big men we see in the league, but at the same time they should have the right to enter if they're ready.

It doesn't make sense to make kids wait that are obvious lottery picks, the best player in the league came from HS.

This.

ACL injuries are much more common these days, as soon as someone goes down with a knee injury 80% of the time we all know its that ACL joint.

Maybe these days niccas are just putting so much added pressure on their knees because people are getting bigger (muscle wise) and its then stressing the knee to much.

There is a lot of emphasis on weight training these days and people wanna be brolic but then its the knee's that suffer in the end.

Athletes need to cut it back and try some Yoga with their training regime or something.

There is definitely a trend in these ACL surgeries happening.
