Hard to do when there’s photographic evidence. They’ve tried it with Mansa Musa, though.

:russ:

Im just saying, imagine its 2045 and someone goes :jbhmm: that malcom x fella had a light complexion and red hair, i think we can get away with casting Bradley as him for our documentary since he has red hair too

There’s really no period without Black ppl tho. And we weren’t just n the background as slaves. you can look up and see Black ppl depicted in actual medieval art.

I didn’t mean there were no black people at all . I just meant they weren’t involved in “courtly” life or European high society as much as shows like Bridgeton would display . Sure , there is probably an occasional ambassador from an African nation or an esteemed entertainer . There were also the Moors and Arabs who ruled Spain for a long time, so of course some will bleed over into France , and there were also black Christian priest from Ethiopia that I’m sure would visit other Christian nations.

But landed nobility in England :picard:

Cleopatra. Who is from a Greek family :picard:.

Achilles ( Cant remember if it was Achilles, he wasn’t a god, only watched 1 episode) in Netflix Troy:patrice:. I’m on the fence about this one because it’s mythology and has fantastical elements . I’ve always been on the side of we shouldn’t be left out of Modern fantasy works/worlds because anything goes there. But it’s Historical Greek Mythology was developed by them in ancient times, let them white folk have their ancient gods.

How you figure? Because race/racism is like a late medieval concept which also seems the follow the spread of Christianity paired with early colonialism. I’ll post some evidence if I can find it when I have time but you also have to recognize they weren’t calling people Black/colored/negro then either.

Also Queen Charlotte was possible a mixed race woman though. There’s been a lot of evidence of that. I haven’t watched the show you’re referring to but since I’m in the city named after her I know a bit about Queen Charlotte

It was more regional. They weren’t saying “black” or Negro, but they were saying Moor , Ethiopian , etc. And the show is late colonialism, the height of the slave trade . I’m sure white prejudice against blacks was well established and rampant then .

Side note: I’m 15 min outside of Charlotte :salute:

Neither Arab Muslims/Copts should be concerned about pyramids and pharaohs

In the future they'll be claiming that Jordan was a white man and everything that says otherwise to be a product of AI.

Cleopatra wasn't black but, she wasn't a white bish from Kansas either.

Either way I'm glad they made the show for the background cast. People need to get comfortable with seeing Black Egyptians on screen because they've lied so much about it. It's good the iconography is out there even if they took some liberties with the main role.

I'm down for the Nubian flims. The thing is racist "Egyptologists" only acknowlege the Nubian reign as Black because they have no choice. But they make it seem like it was an abberation; like Nubians and Egyptians were two different races, one "White" and the other "Black".

This is Narmer, believed to be the first Pharaoh who united Egypt under one dynasty in 3150 BCE. This is thousands of years before the Nubian Dynasty in 744 BC. They expect you to believe he was a White man because they said so. And when pressed by evidence they will say "Yes Ancient Egyptians had dark skin, but they were not Negroes" :comeon:To them Black can only be curly hair, wide nose, and thick lips ignoring the diversity of human beings, period. Fk em...we've seen all kinds of non-white historical figures played by White actors. Turn about is fair play :sas2:

Queen Tiye is even worse. They tried to reconstruct her face and lighten her skin up and she still looked black :heh: It's mental illness.
