Nobody's defending the actual decisions they made.

BUT,

they had no interest in a rebuild. This goes back to even before they moved. Remember they had a top of cap for 2010 and they didn't get shyt except Travis Outlaw who they amnestied as fast as they signed him? They weren't gonna start from scratch because they were moving and we are the most impatient people on Earth.

Now they're gonna do it the slow conservative way because they don't have a choice and nobody's gonna go see them anyway.

rebuild - even inquiring dwill they still was in rebuilding mode
he was supposedly to be the 1st piece, they had every player on their roster coming off the books that offseason before the BK move

No they weren't. You know why they went after DWill? Because they didn't wanna rebuild and wanted to save face after striking out in 2010 free agency.

If they were in rebuilding mode, they don't deal off Favors and a pick, If anything they woulda did anything BUT trade those assets

I never would have traded for Deron, you don't throw picks away like the Nets have been doing.

Basketball is the business, the Nets had no foresight when it came to basketball moves. When you put the business first you make horrible basketball decisions that bite you in the ass sooner rather than later. You do not trade high first rounders like that, every team that is happy to trade their picks ends up ass with very few exceptions.

It's not even the deals. Billy King is a basketball dingbat, with no real skill for roster building. You don't mortgage your entire future for a 50% shot at an Eastern Conference finals appearance.

Look at what he gave away for Garnett and Pierce. A washed Garnett and Pierce at that. Then go look at some of the bonehead moves he made with the Sixers.

My first reaction when they hired him was "how the fukk did Billy King get another job." At least Jeff Fisher is only mediocre. King actively sucks at his job.

that move right there was fukking amazing. And those draft pick giveaways to celtics, but that gerald wallace trade was fukking amazing. Talking about lack of professionalism, that team was already having a losing record without really big chances of making it to the playoffs. And after 2/3 of the season they proceeded to trade the draft pick, claiming that only 3 guys from the draft are sure great picks, for a guy who's been in the league for 10 years and being past his prime with no legit scoring help meaning that his style of play would decrease in the next few years. That move right there should be the biggest highlight of billy king's career. The most pathetic effort in trying to tell your franchise player that "they are doing something"

gearld wallace -lack of offensive talent, continually being injury prone, past his prime at the age of 30 etc...etc... WAS NOT even MY main issue of making that horrific trade

BUT
the fact that he was a restricted free agent whom Portland had no interest in resigning a 30 yr old hustle/energy player -they was already focusing on their young star nic batum who was a better younger version of wallace that could shoot&score

:mindblown::mindblown::mindblown:

mind u this trade went down at the trading deadline
a month & a half till end of season

billy king mental challenge azz traded the 6th pick for a bum who played a whopping 16 games

making this the worst trade NOT ONLY in NBA history but in all sports

rebuilding -or- reloading .... whatever u wanna call it

the fact is...
dwill was the only player they planned on resigning & they was gonna either trade for and sign free agents to complete their roster

oh yeah you are right he was on his way to have his contract expire. the nets then made a horrible contract of 4/40 for him lol, I am pretty sure none of the teams would have offered him that much money anyways which just added more to this horrible trade.

And thats what I am saying they made that trade on march when it was about 2/3 of shortened season already played, they had like 15 wins and went to have like a 5 game losing streak after the trade while claiming this trade was to help to make the playoff push :russ:
