They're going to have to overpay breh based on unusual circumstances.

Again 90 percent of teams will have plus $15 million in cap space this summer and a very small pool of available talent.

Cap grows even more in 2017.

They're fukked.

:heh:
I said this a bit different, what I mean is that they should not do any desperate moves of overpaying bunch of 30yr old players with no potential to chase mediocrity. This team needs to sign someone younger (some raw players and hoping to turn them into something), build their potential and when they get their draft picks....draft those guys and not trade them picks lol

sure their situation is bad, but as far as the GM situation for whoever comes in there its not as bad when a team is desperate to make the playoffs and they fail aka new orleans pelicans with that shytty ass way of building around AD. I feel sorry for those GM's, or kings.
The worst GM position is when you risk of losing your franchise player.

That said, it's pretty disingenuous of everyone to be mad at the Nets for acquiring the 2nd best PG in the league at the time. Once they did that, they couldn't afford to rebuild.

:martin:

breh - billy king is a piece of shyt GM

he traded
a lottery pick for gerald wallace
joe johnson 20plus milly a yr the worst contract in the league
KG, PP, JT for 3 unprotected picks (3) players a combined 109yrs old

They've owned their own pick once since 2010

Traded 2011 for Deron Williams, traded 2012 for Gerald Wallace, traded 2014 for KG & Pierce, traded 2015 in a pick swap for Joe Johnson

And now they don't have 2016, a pick swap in 2017 and don't have 2018

It needs to be put in context how bad those moves were
Players picked with their picks

Damian Lillard
Dererk Favors
Enes Kanter
Draymond Green
Giorgui Dieng
James Young

And your C's are getting high lottery picks from them, those moves have set them back a decade or more. There's no recovery from trading that many first round picks

Nobody's defending the actual decisions they made.

BUT,

they had no interest in a rebuild. This goes back to even before they moved. Remember they had a top of cap for 2010 and they didn't get shyt except Travis Outlaw who they amnestied as fast as they signed him? They weren't gonna start from scratch because they were moving and we are the most impatient people on Earth.

Now they're gonna do it the slow conservative way because they don't have a choice and nobody's gonna go see them anyway.

Such a shame that franchise is in shambles :troll:

Good luck to the next coach :troll:
Destroy your team for a chance at getting Damian Lillard brehs:troll: Trade future picks for damn near the decade for KG and P Pierce who are both over 35 brehs:troll:
Make it so Boston and Toronto are the only threat for us in the division brehs:troll:

I'm going to be honest. This franchise has gone downhill ever since Ratner and his goons bought the team and decided to not resign Kenyon Martin. Sure they kept Kidd for a couple of years and got Carter but it was all just a distraction just like the move to Brooklyn.

Now they're stuck with no draft picks and got Comcast refusing to air YES Network cause their local ratings are so low.

a lottery pick for gerald wallace
that move right there was fukking amazing. And those draft pick giveaways to celtics, but that gerald wallace trade was fukking amazing. Talking about lack of professionalism, that team was already having a losing record without really big chances of making it to the playoffs. And after 2/3 of the season they proceeded to trade the draft pick, claiming that only 3 guys from the draft are sure great picks, for a guy who's been in the league for 10 years and being past his prime with no legit scoring help meaning that his style of play would decrease in the next few years. That move right there should be the biggest highlight of billy king's career. The most pathetic effort in trying to tell your franchise player that "they are doing something"
