Nothing right by being leapfrogged for someone with inexperience. I had the misfortune years back of being let go after a private equity firm acquisition, after surviving the two prior acquisitions. After my departure, the lone other Black guy in my department trained a 25 y/o white girl, 15 years his junior, for 6 months and they made her his boss. They bumped his salary up too to placate him, but dude is walking around that office nutless. Here's the bigger issue in regards to this situation:
there's 4 head coaching vacancies (Chicago, Philly, New Orleans, Indiana, eventually Houston) and Vaughn was more comfortable turning an interim gig into a raise instead of being a potential candidate for 4 different places). Brooklyn did right by Vaughn.
Nah. This is bs. Nothing to be “grateful” for. He put in his time to be head coach of this team and got leapfrogged for someone with less experience, and usually that inexperience is housed in someone white.
