@tremonthustler1 would be the one who has the low-down on this, but I'd imagine that Vaughn's role won't change too much. He'll focus on more of the X's-and-O's and the implementation of the schemes, and Nash will be the Phil Jackson figure, making sure everyone (especially Durant and Kyrie) are on an even keel, mentally.

You ask all the dudes that played alongside Nash throughout his career, and they'll tell you they'd drop everything they had going on in their lives and join the Order of the Nash Sabbath, if he were to ever start a cult.

that was my first thought too.

i get that it was a big surprise but people are over-reacting

He has no coaching experience but he gets to skip over all those brothas who are assistants who have been working for years? I wish nothing but failure for the Nets.
Jason Kidd literally did the exact same shyt with the same team though.

shyt it was even quicker with him. Dude retired and was hired by Brooklyn a whole ass MONTH later.

shyt people bringing up Mark Jackson...her was also hired as Warriors HC with zero coaching or front office experience.

Y'all not being rational.

HOF PG will always be seen as viable coaching options due to their "floor general" roles. Whether you want to say it's deserved or not is another discussion but that's just how it is in the NBA..Magic got coaching gig off of that, so did Kidd, and now Nash. When CP3 retires best believe folks are gonna be in his ear telling him to coach.

Also if KD & Kyrie wanted this then you gotta do it simple as that :yeshrug:

No...point is, there’s a racial precedent in my response that you are completely overlooking In my comment. But thats to be expected because youve always seem to cower in those type of discussions. Best way to survive in the newsroom I guess.

I'm not gonna pin that on a team who did this with Jason Kidd first. What you're saying is true; I just don't think it applies here.

I'd be more upset at a team like the Pacers who are waiting for a 70 year old coach to get fired rather than get Vaughn on the phone and see whether he'd fit what they want (and the Pacers want what Vaughn has been good at: player development and an offense designed around shooting more)

you dont care to pin that on the team because you never cared to have those discussions. Not trying to be personal, but thats your track record.
It applies here. Many of us in the workplace have seen this happen over and over again.

And why does Stephen continue to mention Ty Lue for these head coaching positions? Didn't he have a nervous breakdown right after LeBron left for LA?

Sam Cassell deserves a shot with a team, though.
