Never made it past the 2nd round there.

And that was after they made 2 straight finals.

People don't wanna acknowledge it but Vince Carter's career was a little bit underwhelming. He never became what he was supposed to be.

Three different times Vince went to a team right after they made the Finals...he could never get there himself though :bryan:
Not to mention he went to Phoenix after they made the conference Finals. He’s like Mcgrady overrated revisionist history. When a team constantly does worse after they bring you in the player is the problem, not the team

He’s one of the best players in franchise history and gave them some of their best years and most memorable moments.

The Nets aren’t some storied franchise.

He was one of the best Nets players in the time he was there and he and Jason Kidd were beloved by the fans as a dynamic duo. It's as much for the fans as it is for him. He never has to pay for a Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese in North Jersey or at the very least he gets a free coffee with it.

It’s good business, regardless of what people think of his career there. He is a hall of famer. They not the lakers or the Celtics with a bunch of hall of famers. They would be dumb not to retire that jersey . It gives the franchise a more respectable legacy in the eyes of they fans and investors. Just like people shyt on Carmelo and talk about him not going too far with the Knicks. But the Knicks haven’t won a championship since the damn 70s lol. Like Brunson might be doing a lot, but we don’t know how the rest of his career will turn out. If he retired today , Knicks fans can consider him a legend, but nobody else would. He don’t have fans in China and all around the world yet. Because he still not nowhere near as skilled as Melo. But some of them think they too good for Melo is hilarious. Everybody don’t know Clyde fraiser and Bernard king. Some franchises can be picky. Neither the nets or Knicks should be with players like a Vince or Melo. These are names that are known around the world by many fans

Players have touched on this. He had all the tools physically and skill wise but his mindset wasn't there. Dude loved basketball but I think he loved playing more than he loved winning
