Did those black community leaders take money from the private prison lobby too? If so,fukk them as well.
Nope, it was more misguided idealism that drove their motivations. Lets be honest, most communities want the scum gotten rid of in their communities, at least I hope that is the case. Some people have a "no mercy"/tough love approach to situations, especially conservative minded black folks, and some have a more college professor dissecting and scientific approach to situations. They opted for the tough love approach and it lead to absurd sentencing and punishments for relatively harmless crimes.

Bernie fans. Answer me a few questions.

Why should college be a "right" without exceptions across the board? We already have an issue with college graduates not being able to find a job in the first place. Secondly, why should tax payers bare the burden of paying for someone going into say...classical literature only to work as a barista because their degree has no real world application? They will fail to contribute to the same system that paid for their education and secondly it just seems like a waste of money.

I can understand for skilled labor related jobs, subsidizing it, but throwing money into someone studying bullshyt is a waste of money.

Second question. Do you realize that the president is only one part of the three part system of government? Don't you realize that someone like Bernie who seem to be a staunch uncompromising believer will more than likely not get any of his ideas passed through congress? Either that, or he will change his positions in order to actually get work done which will leave you sad.

Answer those questions and maybe you'll convince me that Hillary isn't the better choice for Democrats (relatively speaking) than Bernie Sanders.
Rewrite your post from the perspective of an equal, not the tone of an arrogant father knows best a$$hole and I might take a stab at it.

1. I think its pretty obvious that free tuition should go towards individuals who are majoring in studies that facilitate economic growth. Not art studies or bullshyt like that.
2. We spent enough money on the Iraq War to subsidize college education for every young American for the next 28 years, I hear nobody talking about how big of a waste of money that war was
3. Bernie talked about a "revolution", that is not just the presidency, he is talking about putting in representatives of the people at the state, local and federal level (such as congressmen)

If you think a neo-liberal is the best choice for Dems, I can't help you

Clinton might have just locked up the nomination too. Bernie has no momentum coming out of this. Hill took 76% black vote in Nevada. Just imagine what she will get in the south. It might be over sooner then later. Majority of black America ain't fukking with nobody but Hillary, if you don't like it nobody to blame but the brothers and sisters in SEC territory bit I have to ask, what did the Clintons ever do for black folk?

Hillary isn't beating Trump, you can't run an establishment candidate against a populist (granted a pseudo-one) and expect to win

This how I look at it breh, that Crack epidemic was getting out of hand and something had to be done, in hindsight it looked like a good idea and the black leaders felt the same way.. the Clinton know it was a bad idea now and even apologized for it.

So you acknowledge that college should be a right for skilled labor?

High school provides a bare minimum education that one could argue everyone needs. Studying Classical history does not.

You don't need a college education to be somewhat educated and also contribute to society. If you don't know basic writing and math skills however which you gain from your pre-k - 12 education, you have problems. I think society as a whole is willing to carry that particular burden. We view that as a requirement to have the most basic of education. College and University to some extent is viewed by society at large as supplemental.

In addition, university isn't for everyone. If we should cover secondary schools, we should look into further funding trade schools or degree programs that will lead directly into a job which then can lead to the individual pay back the money that they were given through taxes or be able to pay their loans. Future Baristas shouldn't have their education subsidized by the tax payer. Pay your own waay.

Looks like Bernie won in some key demos like independents. Might even won Latinos.

But Hilary got that status quo voter on lock.
