Always loved it, I guess it was because the first time I heard it was in a club.
Never Forget is a thread series where you and I - your host, Taadow - revisit some old hits that we may have placed in the attic of our minds. Today, The Abstract - "Vivrant Thing".
"B-B-BUT WAS IT REALLY A HIT??"

AFTERMATH:
- First thought many had: "Nicca...what the fucc does 'vivrant' mean??
I mean, I know what 'vibrant' means...but that ain't what he said..."
- Second thought many had: "What the fucc is this chit?? I see why Tribe broke up if
this is what Tip comin' out the box with..."
For reals, doe - this was one of those that had to grow on you. It just...wasn't what
you would've expected from Q-Tip, especially as his first solo single. It was a cool
li'l cut you could bop to at the party, doe. Now "Breathe & Stop" after this??
Lord, no. But that was a hit, too!
For some reason, Q-Tip is teflon. His rep never takes Ls.
I was a little skeptical of this blowing up so fast. This is one of the first songs I had suspicions of
being one of those cuts Def Jam might paid DJs to spin, because it got hella play.
- sidebar: the video gave us Leila Arceli, who is one of the greatest video broads of all-time.
OF ALL-TIME.
This that prototype Neptunes beat everybody was using back then right?
Special girl, real good girl
