Amazon Takes Aim At Costco With New Prime Visa Card

The card is free to Prime members (who pay a $99 annual fee) and rewards users with a whopping 5% cash back on all purchases made at Amazon and 2% in Amazon credit for purchases at restaurants and gas stations. Users get 1% cash back for purchases everywhere else. (See the full list of benefits here.)

i have the regular amazon visa rewards (3% back, no annual fee) because i order all the time, almost shop exsclusively on there. i'm not sure i like that annual fee tho on this one even tho you get higher cash back

true. if i didnt have prime i wouldn't consider it. i do like 80% of my shopping on amazon these days. i split prime with my sister (you can add 1 family member) so $50 a year is well worth it for me.

Get it. Especially if you shop a lot on Amazon. I shop on amazon a lot too, so i that 5% cash back is lit. This might be my next card after my next round of increases

now much of hit you think you'll get. sometimes getting a new credit card doesn't even drop your score. maybe a couple points.

I think the switch from 3 to 5 depends on your credit, at least that's how they made it seem. I also had to go in and click something to transition to 5. They didn't automatically change me over.

Damn, that might be the move. I would definitely use Amazon over Ebay for a ton of purchases with the 5% return in mind.

As @Raava said though, might encourage more frivolous spending on my part, though.

This isn't a store specific card. I just applied for it last night. It's a Visa Signature card that gives 5% cash back at Amazon 2% at gas stations, drug stores and restaurants and 1% everywhere else. It's a damn good card to have if you shop at Amazon and especially if you have Prime. Even without Prime it's 3% cb at Amazon.

Since there's no annual fee and it comes with a free $70 Amazon gift certificate it's well worth getting.

yeah i know. i meant that i never give the time of day to stores that advertise credit cards but that this one caught my eye
