Yo. Amazon was the second credit card I applied for after I had established myself and they denied me. I've been hesitant ever since. Saw this thread and said fukk it and applied. Approved.

It's now my highest limit card. It's gonna fukk up my age history but it's gonna bring my utilization down significantly.

And that $70 is instantaneous.
I remember when I got my current place I applied for several credit cards and was denied. Best Buy approved me for $900 instore credit only. That was 5 years ago. Now I apply for credit cards and I get the best APR and a decent sized limit even with banks I have no relationship with.

Feels good to repair your credit like that. I just torpedoed my shyt cause my Fico score dropped 40 points in a month due to a few hard pulls and a loan payoff. When you have an 846 Fico you can afford that though.

I got their card already so I'm already getting transferred to the new card. What sucks is that right when this was announced i had just received my new amex card that had a promo for I believe 10% back on Amazon purchases up to $2000 spent. Plus I get zero interest on it for a year, and that's not including my boa card that has zero interest until June. So I'll probably stick with the amex for now to take advantage of their offer then go back to the Amazon card. I gotta pay off the $300 I got on there before anything tho.

I wonder if I can reapply for the student discount when the renewal comes. :jbhmm:
i think you automatically get 4 years at the price from the time you first use the student discount. I guess they assume you are going for a bachelors. thats how it was for me. then after that I let me prime run out and a few days later they emailed me saying they would let me keep my student discount even though i'm not a student anymore. i was only a student for 2 years to get my associate degree. been a prime member since 2010.

Yeah with me I don't remember what happened. I know they asked for proof and i sent a picture of my old student id card, lol. I haven't been in school since like 2010. :snoop: contemplating going back and focusing on finishing but i don't know if it's worth the risk for the cost. But that's another topic. But this past year i missed the cutoff. I'll have to check when it's due for a renewal.

Just got the card in the mail today. It's almost like it's metal.

I have the old card but I don't have prime. Does this mean that if I get upgraded, I have to pay the annual fee?:patrice:

Doesn't it take about a month for them to report to the credit bureaus?
I literally got an email within a week from my credit monitoring service that I had opened up a new line of credit and that my score had increased... Amazon is on the ball right now :blessed:
