Something I am thinking about is to have game nights with the crews on here. It's strange how unorganized we are...we can start having battles with other websites in games for those who are serious.

We need to unify the forum instead of this xbox vs ps4 shyt popping off all the time.

We could even have intramural competition also .

This would be overkill I'm sure...but I wondered if this board could handle PS4 and Xbox One subforums.

As it stands, you have two groups of people who consider it normal to regularly troll and disrupt "the opposition's" threads...and it's just devaluing the entire discussion as a whole.

Maybe if we embraced the team nonsense, it could actually benefit everyone regardless: more PS4 and Xbone games would get stuck, gamertag/username lists can return, and the discussion could improve greatly.

The main forum can spotlight Indie, Nintendo, and PC releases...and other tech discussion, of course. It could regain its luster in no time. Fanboys can see who has the bigger clubhouse. Everyone would win.

Youre never going to get away from stan wars,that has its place in every section. Just look at the booth right now.

But certain threads should be off limits. If its an official game thread if somebody is trolling it who doesnt even own the game they should be banned from the thread.

Its discouraging for anyone,on either side when they make a thread and it devolves into nonsense.

Drive by shyt posting should be cracked down on.

Stan wars should have their own specific threads.

The clearest option is basically getting a couple of dozen posters to realize that their inside jokes and antics are more divisive than hip.

Drive by shyt posting is when people (who have no interest in contributing to the thread) troll, thread derail, and fish for fellow fanboy daps.

Then you have folks who "retaliate" to shyt/troll posting in even more threads, needlessly trying to "compensate."

No what happened was once the Xbox One and PS4 launched, a large majority of the posters became vehemently anti-xbox and absolutely refused to allow for any discussion to occur in regards to xbox content. The also mobilized and got courtdog banned. All games pertaining to xbox ones threads were immediately trolled and distroyed. The top ps4 troll (Rekkapryde) was even named arcadium poster of the year. More reasonable posters got tired of the bullshyt and left altogehter. Unfortunately these ps4 posters were mostly unoriginal cosigners and therefore incapable of creating interesting posts. Posters and lurkers alike simply vanished. Most other reasonable posters like myself went to other sites for proper gaming discussion. Film room was created around this time, probably the main benefit of this stan war nonsense.

Ultimately the mods failure to reign this place together is what caused this subform to turn into the garbage it is today. Most of the mods are cluless in this because most of them were active participants in the demise of this place.

we crack down and ban trolls or limit their abilities to post and then we get complaints that they're what make the forum fun....

hard to find a balance with that type of attitude around here

im perfectly fine with cracking down. i just dont want to hear that us being too strict ruined the forum so its really up to the audience in here what direction we go in.

I like that idea. The question is how do you decide which game it is and for which system. For instance, I think you're gonna find a lot of people opting for a PS4 version of a multi platform game because that's the only console they have, or vice versa. Exclusives would be where an idea like "Game Night" would shine because everyone who has it will have it on one platform.

Regardless, it wouldn't take long to see who plays the games or who just talks about em
