Do these cats want Trump to remain President more than they don't want Biden to be President?

:jbhmm:

Yes they absolutely do.
What hurts more, losing a fight against a known enemy or being betrayed by someone you thought was a ally, then also losing the fight to the pre designated enemy?

I think people feel greatly betrayed by the democrats by not embracing more leftists ideas in the wake of growing economic inequalit and climate change. This sense of betrayal culminated when Bernie Sanders was rejected by the Institutional Dems (some say he was outright screwed over but IMO most of America still has a fear of socialism).
People feel that the Dems use the excuse of "But The Republicans!! :damn:" as a strategy to rally the troops for elections but not actually have to make changes to policy to inspire people to vote.

I try to remain objective but not gonna lie, this is exactly what they do.

There is no easy answer. I personally feel like Trump is the greater evil and if things truly as precarious Leftists/Progressives say, then every little bit helps, even if it's incremental or preserving some semblance of status quo by means of a Biden presidency.

Not to mention, this perfect figure/movement that will come forth and flip the system on its head doesn't fukking exist. People are saying they'd rather sit on their hands waiting for that moment.

If that was the case they'd criticize Trump too. These bothsiders only got smoke for one side yet claim neutrality :coffee:

OP had no smoke for Trump re-tweeting a white power video :coffee:

that shyt is expected. if anyone doesn't know who trump is by now, they're fukking hopeless. that doesn't even need discussion. what we need to discuss is how easily we're pandered to by the democratic candidate, how much our vote is taken for granted, and how little we really get from them in the end. but some of y'all are so obsessed with getting trump out that you can't even have that discussion.

Civil Rights Activist Andrew Young Endorses Joe Biden

Former Ambassador to the United Nations Andrew Young in Georgia Public Broadcasting's Midtown studios on March 5, 2020.
Andrew Young, the civil rights-era leader, former mayor of Atlanta and President Jimmy Carter’s ambassador to the United Nations, endorsed Democratic candidate Joe Biden for president Thursday, March 5.

On Georgia Public Broadcasting’s Political Rewind with Bill Nigut, Young said Biden was a friend of his and someone who could bring the Democratic electorate together.

He compared Biden's recent primary victories to the success of a former Mayor of Natchez, Miss., who was elected with 93% of the vote in a city split between white and black communities.

“And the first time we saw this nationally was with this Joe Biden resurrection,” Young said.

Young joined the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in 1961, directing their literacy program aimed at Southern black women and men. He was an aide to Martin Luther King Jr. through their campaigning in Birmingham and during the March on Washington in 1963.

After the assassination of King, Young was named executive vice president of SCLC before going on to serve as a member of Georgia’s congressional delegation, in Carter’s White House, He then served as mayor of Atlanta in 1982.

Young said he has had a longtime relationship with Biden that includes sponsoring one of the first fundraisers in Atlanta for the former vice president with Atlanta business executive Mack Wilbourn.

Several prominent elected officials in Georgia have already endorsed Biden’s campaign, including State Rep. Calvin Smyre (D-Columbus) and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.

...but...black people ourselves didn't embrace more leftist ideas in the primary. Black people are the reason Joe Biden is the democratic nominee, so this is straight lunacy to give the man the nomination then turn around like "WHERE ARE OUR POLICY PROPOSALS?!?!"

like...the time to force the issue is always the primary, not the general. not supporting a democrat in the general is always going to be a losing proposition, I don't care how it's framed. time doesn't stand still and racists don't idle when we choose not to participate, they just take advantage of our lack of participation to further antagonize us and make change difficult.

A lot of people act like Joe Biden was just selected to be the nominee. We had far better choices in the primary. Bernie and Warren both had progressive policies that would do more but black people supported Joe.

If you break it out demographically, we have old black people choosing who the nominee is and a subset of young black people not liking that choice and reacting emotionally. The rational thing to do as part of that subset would be to engage the elderly black people, call out reps like Clyburn and others who play favoritism / relationship politics instead of black constituent politics CONSISTENTLY, and begin to nominate Democrats who have a plan for us.

What "we" (saying this as a younger black person) seem to do instead is have minimal participation in the nomination process and expect it to yield results for us. Politics don't work that way. If you don't play, you never win.

This country will never give you shyt you don't demand if you're a person of color.
