This interview took me back to the early 90s and kept me there....The story of how he took the horns from Valley Of The Jeep beats to make Soul Clap...:ohhh:

this thread will get a limited responses because u had to be a early 90s ny hip hop head to know diamond d...I remember a while back diamond d spoke on how the record label wanted to push "sally got a one track mind" as a single because it was positive and positive records were the "in" thing....and thats why gangter rap took over because all the labels cared about was the "in" thing, wether it was positive or negative..Brought some light to the whole conspiracy theory about labels pushing negativity. I remember Azie from Mob Style said something similiar to the likes of how the labels were telling him that they cant push records with curses because that wasnt the in thing....from a selling point and a moral point.....But then when the lables learned that records with curses started selling they said 'fukk it!' and the morals went out the window.

So whats the issue with clef and pras?
Seems as though when they got sued for the sample on The Score they sent them for Diamond instead of eating it, considering the album sold 20 million plus record worldwide and they had more than enough payola to eat it.

That part shocked me though... cause I knew he was gonna bring up the record - was waiting for that one too (amongst others). Didn't know there was beef.

:dead: @ Combat Jack askin about how he came up with the backwards sample. Diamond like :comeon: "you spin the record backwards".

I understand where Jack was comin with the question but that part had me :pachaha:

Good interview. :salute:
