WRONG . There has to be a level of skill in a piece.

You can have an emotional attachment to a work but, all bad pieces lack things like depth, clarity, understanding of light and shadows, nuanced brushwork, interesting/provocative themes, etc.

:camby:With this obtuse, recycled Art gibberish! :mjlol: One's "emotional attachment" (or lack thereof) to any artwork clearly makes it subjective.

When the talent outweighs the bad shyt they did,or you can find reasoning in the bad shyt:martin:

Saying you see good in Hitler basically means you see some good in him killing a bunch of jews ,and being a racist who thought whites were the superior race.

If thats what you believe stand on it,don't hide behind fake deep/enlightened nonsense:mjpls:

Being a terrible human and talented aren’t mutually exclusive traits. Theres good and bad in everyone, just in vastly different amounts.

Saying an evil person had a capacity for good doesn’t quite equate to supporting their ideologies either.

There’s reasoning behind every action really but I don’t think thats enough to bypass it or accept it.

Nothing “fake deep” or enlightened about objectively weighing up people but I digress:leon:

Saying Hitler had “good” art or R Kelly is good sadly doesn’t make you a neo nazi child molester :shaq2:

Anyway, I appreciate the response and I’m just trying to understand an opposing view point on whether we can seperate art from artist or whether anyone is pure evil, not trying to disrespect :hubie:

Hitler was definitely a good painter.

Though, killing 6 million people in a genocide really kinda eliminates any chance of seeing much "good" in him. Having a skill does not mean that THAT is a sign of good in you, it's a sign that there's talent in you. Erakuh Badu has always been on that hipster, "try to act different" BS and didn't even think this one out.

One could really argue that whilst objective metrics do exist, who says they really matter or are universal?

doesn't sound like she's defending hitler. She's just saying he wad skill as a painter, which is true.
No she didn’t just saying that Hitler has skill as a painter. She tried to use hitler’s skill as a painter as evidence that there was good in him. Good thing the interviewer checked her on that dumb shyt

Sad to say, but she’s the typical fake deep bird brain. That “why I can’t say that?” response to being challenged was rich.

"Fathers of this country" are called great men and they owned plantations and human beings. Many of them openly contradicted their own writings about men and freedom..
