They said they are going to rehab some of the westside but ain't nobody trying to revive the Bluff breh.

They'd have to find a way to relocate all of those people down there in Vine City. That's not happening.

It's funny b/c they're reviving certain parts of the Westside (West Midtown for example from driving away from the city on Marietta St to Howell Mill Rd before you hit 75), but historical areas like Vine City, West End, shyt even Castleberry Hills get no money to revamp those communities. If they truly do commit money to Vine City & the areas around there this could be a good look. It's a shame that a Papa Johns is the biggest thing sitting across from the Dome for several miles on Northside or MLK

It'll be paid for by the hotel/motel tax in downtown Atlanta. So the tax money is coming from outta towners, mostly

It's been alotta back & forth on what is or isn't wrong with the Dome. Falcons say the roof/stadium enhancements cost up to $300 million. Honestly there's nothing seriously wrong with the Dome, but it will help with securing Super Bowl's, Final Fours, World Cups, CFB Playoffs, etc.

:comeon: That's not the case here

:childplease: let me give you transplants a history lesson: Historically, in most cities with a sports team/stadium, these stadiums are built in the hood where the property is cheap & there's less resistance to build things there. The Falcons spent the first 20 years playing at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium with the Braves (which is in Summer Hill, Pittsburgh hood ass areas). They moved across town in the 90's to the Dome which is Vine City (also a hood ass part of town, :salute: to the Westside). Its not a border b/w the hood & downtown. It IS in the hood. The new stadium will STILL be in Vine City near where the current Dome sits & built even deeper into the hood b/c they're tearing down historical churches & other historical buildings in Vine City to make room for it. They say they plan to put $15 million into Vine City to restore the community, but :comeon:

:laff: @ overtake the hood area west of the stadium. That's the whole Westside, fukk is you saying?

A+ post

Yea probably. Like someone else mentioned, Blank generates some money from the Dome, but he doesn't own it. The Georgia World Congress Center Authority does. The GWCCA will still own & operate this new facility, but Blank's puttin up damn near a billion. The value of the Falcons are about to go way way up with this

:salute: @JKFrazier, tired of reading intruder trying to tell me about our city breh. nikka lives in fukkin Alpharetta. Go write about Mansell Rd nikka, leave this Atlanta shyt to the natives

:wow:

None of those stadium designs are getting built.

And them crime rates going up if they put that stadium ANY deeper in Vine City or the Bluff.

Imagine some Curtis Snow type nikkas running up on some Falcons fans leaving the game. shyt would look like Oakland. :pachaha:

Ask @pieface about the Westside.
