New Falcons Stadium renders

Atlanta is among several US cities that bid for the 2022 World Cup & with a new stadium will be a great destination for the 2026 World Cup

given how the next 2 world cup destinations were picked and how they were picked..lol i dont see atlanta or USA coming out at the host country

let me give you transplants a history lesson: Historically, in most cities with a sports team/stadium, these stadiums are built in the hood where the property is cheap & there's less resistance to build things there. The Falcons spent the first 20 years playing at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium with the Braves (which is in Summer Hill, Pittsburgh hood ass areas). They moved across town in the 90's to the Dome which is Vine City (also a hood ass part of town, to the Westside). Its not a border b/w the hood & downtown. It IS in the hood. The new stadium will STILL be in Vine City near where the current Dome sits & built even deeper into the hood b/c they're tearing down historical churches & other historical buildings in Vine City to make room for it. They say they plan to put $15 million into Vine City to restore the community, but

@ overtake the hood area west of the stadium. That's the whole Westside, fukk is you saying?

Vine City is right at the border between the hood and downtown.

The stadium got bunched up with Phillips Arena and the CNN Center. Which limited the number of ADDITIONAL businesses that could have been opened near it since those other structures are already there. I'm not sure which came first but bunching them up together instead of spreading them out to EXPEND the downtown area westward or wherever was a big mistake.

By overtaking the hood i mean put a structure there that will attract businesses to establish there. Once you do that it brings up the property value around it which also brings in more police presence. Do that and watch all the drug dealing and prostitution that goes on in that area go away immediately.

I have a chick i was talking to that lives in the area off Beckwith. We 'd be on her front porch chilling and would see all kinds of prostitutes being picked up on the corner. That shyt would end. The poor people would just have to move but if they owne the homes they'd be able to sell higher than before so it's win for them too

@ the 2nd being easier to build. Both of them seem like some architect's dream. Both would probably cost over a billion. Neither will ever get built. They'll dumb it down to save cost.

No dummy. Tho I didnt say anything about BUILDING now that you broought it up i think it might be easier to build too. But to reiterate my point.

• Structure #1 needs additional empty space around it for when the top opens up
• Structure #2, only the top part moves when opens. No other parts move and it doesnt go beyond the perimeter of the closed state

From what we know about mechanical engineering, the less moving parts the easier it is to maintain.

Now tell me again which one you think would be easier maintain ad operate?

From an engineering standpoint:

• The first one has way too many moving parts and requires more real estate when it has to expend/open up.
• The second one is the easiest to implement AND it looks much better.

But knowing things work in politics i bet they go for the 1st
