This is so difficult to do too. The tempo control, breath control, memory, to rap at that speed and in that key, but with the patterns being so complex.

He's gonna have a claim at the GOAT.
it was a great performance. Decent song.

Even Andre 3K knew when to let the musicality take over. Every song isn't a competition for cramming syllables and rapping as fast as possible. Its poetry, not a contest.

Funny how the haters always arrive one by one, after hours and after everyone has crashed. shyt kinda spooky homies.

The stans arrive first, few objective folks mixed in the middle, then the haters come.

Kind of hard to get an honest opinion on here when new music is released.

His flow is fukking impeccable to say the least and as usual
his writing is top notch !
The guy is always experimenting with flow and delivery in a way which makes him
like an Eminem or a member of Outkast but what's great about Kendrick is he's just as much his team.

The production is always top notch and the musicianship they display is commendable.
They give him the canvas to paint on, to completely lose his shyt on, and dude rarely if ever
disappoints.

So I'll say Kendrick was fukking great here but this performance was the sum of all of it's parts
everyone shined, causing Kendrick to shine just that much brighter, this makes me
definitely wanna hear his TPAB material live one day.
At this point man, I honestly think you're more of a fan of the overall product Kendrick and his team put out than K. Dot himself. I get that you dig the sound. That is what causes the discrepancy. I listened to this and liked it, but if this is what makes you the best rapper then a lot of spoken word people have a similar claim. It was a dope performance, but at some point we have to decide what makes an emcee great and not switch that depending on the person. When Wale does this ish he gets made fun of. Kendrick does it and he's a rap savant. I'm so confused.

Side note: this was not an attack on @Insensitive, he just happened to be the most recent poster when I came in here.

This shyt ain't that great... actually it's debatable if its great at all.

To me... this is a rapper playing to his fanbase who think this slow temp to rambling gibberish shyt is hot.

It's not... and it's a damn shame because old K. Dot was never this limited. Cat controlled the mic and exhibited elite MC talent.

This dude here is a pawn... a corporate one who knows real heads don't fukk with this puesdo intellectual bullshyt, yet he can't stop because Interascope got a battery in his back.

I think the product is inseparable from the artist himself.

And are there any examples of Wale doing something like this on this level? Everytime somebody says something like "if X would have done this" for any artist they always just say it and never go any deeper. It comes off as just being mad that your guy isn't getting the same shine.
