Looks like Thurott was spot on with his 499 price of the new Xbox along with a subsidized model for 299. he did say the subsidized version would be 10 dollars a month, but has corrected himself to the current 15/month price.


So if you buy the new Xbox, after 2 years you looking at


Buy standalone = 499 + 40-60/year for live = 580 - 620 dollars
Subsidized model = 299 + 15 a month for 24 months = 660 dollars

And please believe if you don't pay or try to cancel, you won't be on live and there is a good chance they may even brick your system from paying until you get caught up on your monthly bill.

LMAO at @MeachTheMonster hoping & praying that the PS4 costs the same or more that the next Xbox. Sony has already announced that their gonna be flexible as fukk with pricing. The rumor is their are gonna be 2 PS4 SKUs. The cheaper PS4 SKU version is rumored to be $429 with the more expensive one $529. I've also read on the NeoGAF Forum from a Sony insider that Sony is considering dropping the PS4 Eye camera from the cheaper SKU to keep the price down.

So keep dreaming.
