Just look at that match listing. 2005 had to have been the start of the "if the main event is good, that should make up for how shytty the rest of the show was" type programming we've been seeing for years after that. The roster at this point still had some stars, and stars in the making, but this period was just the beginnings of some flat out bad stuff making up the majority of this time. Kane was starting to get bloated and involved in a miscarriage story-line, Orton's face turn had totally bombed to a HHH that was also starting to get bloated, and was still within Reign Of Terror Mode, Christian would get super hot, get his steam killed then head to TNA to put on some of the best solo performances in his career, Jericho would float around doing nothing til he disappeared and re-invented himself (the 1st time), Eugene would be on TV, and then The Rise And Fall Of Muhammad Hassan. The best things I can remember from the WWE in general in 2005 were Batista breaking out, Edge starting to find himself as a heel, Shelton Benjamin bubbling as a guy you thought had next (:martin:) and Shawn Michaels continuing to rise from the dead.
