You could do alot worse than Rex Ryan, the only thing you can fault Rex is being loyal to Fez and there is no doubt he would have benched him earlier if it wasn't for the extension.

I don't know how much say he had in player personnel, especially when it came to the draft. I know he vouched hard for the Defense guys ( Mo, Coples, Wilson). We'll see how Kyle Wilson does next year, probably a position change. He didn't want Steven Hill, they still picked him ... it's not like he picked all the players.

I can't judge him on the 1st draft because, Fez was probably a woody pick and Greene was serviceable and that was the draft. The 2nd Draft we traded 2 picks for Braylon.

When it comes to his relationship with Sanchez I honestly think Rex didn't like Tebow being forced on him like that and he wouldn't give into the pressure like Denver did even if it panned out for Denver. I ain't knocking Tebow, I like him actually... not so much as a QB but he's hard to dislike as a person. I can applaud Rex for not giving into pressure but the switch from Sanchez needed to be made weeks before; extension or no, to Tebow or McElroy.

I do feel kinda bad for Tebow, his career really been derailed by this. I never thought he'd be some teams QB for the next decade but he deserved some time with the Jets the way Sanchez was playing. If he stuck it up there was always McElroy. Now it seems no teams are interested in him, even the Jags new GM said "I'm good on that." Sad thing is it's not really Tebow's fault the media can't help but follow him around.

The reviews for Idzak by league insiders have been great. And it's been said he has a great relationship with agents, unlike Tannebaum. Hopefully this will help us keep Revis.

The more I hear about this, the more excited I am.
If Idzik is smart he'll trade Revis...

You can't tie up a quarter of the cap in CB's and no CB deserves Tom Brady money...Nobody builds a team around a fukking CB...

Trade Revis and build through the draft...

I'm very much against trading Revis, though I see it's possible and if they do, they may as well do it now. Trading him guarantees 3 things:

1. TV blackouts

2. half empty Jet Life Stadium

3. 14 losses minimum, so you might as well start Mark til the end of his actual contract.

I don't know how Idzik drafts. I won't take a chance on him fukking up the picks we get back for Revis (which won't be full value) Besides, Idzik just got hired. I don't think his first order of business is to trade Revis and immediately get on the hot seat (and in turn, make your team so irrelevant, Woody Johnson would just fire you and make Rex the GM officially)

I also think it might be easier to move Cromartie since this is as high of value as he'll have. Also, Kyle Wilson should never play CB in the NFL again. Why is it that Belichick can move a pro bowl CB in McCourty to safety with no problem but we can't do that with Kyle? He should be a FS.

losing a CB just adds more needs to this team (and if we move Revis prior to the draft, everyone would want us to take Dee Milliner from Alabama to replace him as opposed to taking a guard or linebacker. If you told me we'd get a high 2014 pick for Revis, then it's a little easier since that draft has some can't miss prospects.)

Also, we can pay David Harris Patrick Willis /NaVorro Bowman money combined and Fez top 10 QB money and maybe bring back Landry at an overpaid rate but we can't pay the best player at his position? If you're not gonna pay Revis, who the hell would you consider worth paying? Until we actually have a problem paying guys, moving Revis just makes the team look cheap.

Revis value is down due to coming back from an ACL injury.

We are definitely keeping him this year, and he will test free agency. Next year the Jets will have plenty of cap space to work with if they play their cards right, so I can see them keeping Revis.

If anything, Cromartie will get traded before Revis does

The NFL is not like MLB breh...we have a cap to deal with...

With or without Revis the stadium will be vacant when the Jets play next season...I welcome the blackouts with open arms...That's one step closer to relegation and or relocation...

The only thing I agree with you on is that Idzik would be selling low but that's better than paying that dude the absurd money he wants....

Like i said no CB is worth Tom Brady money...The Jets were second in the league last year in pass defense without Revis...Just because these idiots overpaid Fez, Holmes and Harris doesn't mean they have to repeat it a fourth time by breaking bank on a fukking CB...

It's now time to stop making dumbass moves and smarten the fukk up...We ain't never winning shyt with Revis so why hold on to him? For what? to claim we have the best CB in the league making Tom Brady money while were winning 4 games a season?

Trade his ass and for once in my motherfukking lifetime TRY TO BUILD THROUGH THE DRAFT like a competent franchise...

Exactly, and there are very few players worth paying on this team. Besides, even if Revis gets dealt, the Jets take it up the ass with his cap hit, so now we're gonna rely on Idzik to do something we haven't seen a GM do here in years: find gems off the scrap heap, something that needs to be done whether Revis is here or not.

Like i said no CB is worth Tom Brady money...The Jets were second in the league last year in pass defense without Revis.

Because we were horrible against the run. I think we were ranked 26th. The only time they ever threw, they'd just pick on Kyle. Other teams could have just done that all day, but they just took advantage of slow ass Harris and Scott.

..Just because these idiots overpaid Fez, Holmes and Harris doesn't mean they have to repeat it a fourth time by breaking bank on a fukking CB...

Only Revis justifies what he gets by how he plays. Fez, Holmes, and Harris don't. So like I said, if you're not gonna pay the guy who puts in the work, who will you pay? The guys that don't?

The team needs to build through the draft and through smart signings and getting good UDFA's. I hope the Jets can do that with Revis here and Revis doesn't prevent Idzik from doing that.

New York Jets-Michael Vick union reportedly unlikely

If Michael Vick winds up parting ways with the Philadelphia Eagles, he's bound to find work elsewhere -- but not in Florham Park.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday that Vick is not a fit for the New York Jets, who hired Marty Mornhinweg as the team's offensive coordinator this week. The two "were not on the best of terms last season" when Mornhinweg called plays for the Eagles and that relationship -- along with Vick's price tag -- makes a reunion highly unlikely.

One possible quarterback candidate in New York? Tarvaris Jackson, according to Schefter, based on shared ties with new general manager John Idzik. When he was with the Seattle Seahawks, Idzik was a supporter of Jackson, who spent the past season with the Buffalo Bills.

Jackson is an unrestricted free agent and would come at a relatively cheap cost for the Jets, who find themselves saddled with the unwieldy guaranteed contract they handed Mark Sanchez last offseason. This much appears certain: Sanchez will be surrounded by new faces and confront stiff competition heading into next season.

would u have traded deion sanders too? jets defense made up for the revis loss bc cro stepped up and they had landry out there, next yr you're not gonna have landry and who knows what cro is gonna be like, the WHOLE defense is predicated on revis presence alone and has been successful, why fukk with it?

defense isn't the problem, tied up money not spent on the offense is and that money really shouldn't have anything to do with revis. this is new york, one player doesn't cripple the cap, bad decisions do.

Wow some Jets fans coming around on the idiocy of treating a corner back like a quarterback

Trade em

They'll never recover from this. They still haven't really recovered from dealing Abraham, and even we got Mangold in return for him.

If they won't keep him, don't keep anyone. dump every stinking piece of shyt except Mark, and the only reason why I want Fez to stick around is because we can't get to 1-15 without him.

According to NY Daily News, Sanchez is going to be working out with Jeff Garcia to get a feel for Mornhinweg's style of play calling. Also attempting to reach out to Steve Young to attempt to work out with him.

How y'all feel about that? I think it shows initiative on his part, but it'll be for nothing if it doesn't translate on the field. Garcia doesn't seem bad, considering his knowledge of Mornhinweg, and if some of Steve's greatness rubs off on him then :blessed:
