NEW YORK CITY
Southerners wear the "south" on their sleeves.

But regionalism on that level doesnt exist in the north. Nyers dont look to boston, dc and philly as northern brothers the way southern cities do with each other. Nyers arent really self aware to region beyond maybe the Tri-state.

Theres no real cohesive concept to the "north". Just separated metropolitan areas

Northerners are aware were northerners but like you said we don't have a brotherly attitude towards other cities.

Colder weather/urban environments breeds a go-for-self mentality which manifested on a city to city basis. Plus since we have a "superiority complex" cities/citizens of the South feels a stronger need to rep the South as a whole.

I mean NJ pretty much an extension/suburb of NY. That’s why they built the Meadowlands there. Connecticut nikkas...idk, never met a black person from there or know much of anything about them :patrice:

The south has more generational family dependence. New Yorkers tend to have more of a survival instinct, reliance of self; rather than looking for help outside of our own resources. Like Nas said - born alone, die alone; there’s no days for broke days. There’s enough of a collective mentality among ourselves to maintain and be efficient, without intervention. No need to include or involve others for what we can accomplish.
