PS4 gets big updates in one fell swoop.
Last gen PS3 got updates like damn near every 3-4 days and cats was complaining about it so now they just drop updates in one big dump.
As for your PS4 collecting dust, that's your problem. Your situation isn't indicative of everyone else's. that's the lamest rejoinder I see whenever someone isn't dikkriding the Xbox: "B-b-b-but my PS4 is dusty it get's no play time!"

#1 sony had a foot hold on the consoles. But of course they did. its like lebron james being in his prime while kobe is on his way out with 2 serious injuries. i mean KD is a problem but he aint no Lebron. Nintendo and Sega was
status when sony hit their stride. sure there were a couple of new boys that tried to test them. but they were no where near capable of putting a dent into what sony had going. until.... MS came thru. and hey lets be clear i was 100% sony back then PS1,PS2. I was even selling the PS3 by word of mouth based on Value(Blu-Ray cost back then) + a gaming system for that price was a helluva deal. But i ended up settling on that 360 in the end. #3. of course the high price tag gave MS some room to slide in there. but wait, once again you're showing your playstanleyness. Its ok to say "the only reason MS got in is cause of the high price tag of the Sony system." but wait, isnt this one of the very reasons that sony is selling so many in comparison to the xbox one right now? high price tag and that DRM craze. So i can use that same logic and say "The only reason yall got a foot hold on this next gen is because the high price tag and all the drm backlash early on. " Lets keep it 150, what would've happened if the Xbox one and sony were the exact same price and there was no hint of DRM? even with sony being the more powerful system "on paper." what would've happened? I think we have a good idea what would've happened. and it would not have gone down like it has now. all due to those two things early on. people are not choosing the ps4 because of specs. they were choosing it because it was cheaper. they were choosing it because it supposedly was "NO DRM". then the 3rd reason for the "1080p" & "60FPS" people was its supposed power. but after seeing RYSE that should've changed their mines if its all about the look.

The power talk was not coming from those in the middle trying to decide. it was coming from sony fanboys that would've bought that ps4 no matter which system had the best on paper specs or 1080p, 60fps. if xbox one was producing games with 1080p res and 60fps. but sony made Ryse. yall would be telling us right now how sony is better even if its at 900p at 30fps. yall would be telling us who cares about hitting a number like 1080p or 60fps if the game doesnt look as good as the game at 900p/30fps. thats exactly what yall would say. just like these apple fanboys are trying to tell the droid lovers how their larger phone is great now when just last week "those big phablets look silly...you cant even put that in your pocket."

you do realize that was pre online gaming era right? sure we had to purchase another piece to connect to our stations to get online. which was also nonsense. like others have said. MS came thru and added networking to the console. not as an addtl add on accessory. i might be wrong, but wasnt sony the first console to only give you 1 controller in the box and make you go out and buy that 2nd one? It has only recently become OK because most people game online more then they play locally with friends. it use to be the other way around. which is why all systems came with 2 controllers from the jump.
thats the kind of stuff you will have to deal with, if sony was THEE only player. dont be silly people. use your heads. The only time its good to have a monoply if the company has shown you time and time again it cares more about the consumer then it does the bottom line. is sony that company? NO. because of MS sony had to step up their online experience. without MS's Xbox live. Sony would be ultra stale online. There wouldnt be any apps, etc.
