I can't change the background image on the PS4 menu. Obviously they must have used an image file for the default one. It takes a massive amount of resources to let the end user pick a replacement image?

I'm not saying none of this out of outrage just strikes me as odd that some very simple things didn't make it over day 1? Couldn't the 3DS play music files off an SD card day one?

If you have windows 8 make sure you have music sync/match enabled. It will sync your music to the cloud, and from there you can stream from the cloud no PC required using the xbox music app on the xbox.

Just tested it now, took my PC offline and it still worked.

Detailed and exhaustive write-up on the Next Gen. But, after all is said and done, are these complaints deal breakers for Sony and Microsoft? I don't think so. Most casual users don't use the media features as frequently or as in depth as you do. As another poster mentioned, Sony and Microsoft likely trained their resources on gaming, leaving little left for media content. In hindsight that does seem like an oversight and is a few steps back from what we all hoped next gen can and should be.
