Batista will not be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. Batista was originally announced to be inducted in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced a delay, and both sides agreed to induct him in the near future. There was then talk of inducting The Animal this year in Los Angeles, but word now via PWInsider is that he will not be going in with his longtime friend Rey Mysterio. Batista is currently filming the “My Spy” sequel in South Africa, so that was the likely given reason for Batista not going in this year.

Very well deserving.

The Great Muta and Jushin “Thunder” Liger innovated a lot of that aerial “high risk” style that you see utilized by cruiserweight and light heavyweight guys of today.

The Kenny Omega’s, Daniel Bryan’s, Finn Balor’s, as well as luchadores like Rey Mysterio and the late Eddie Guerrero owe a lot to those guys.

Muta and Liger were doing a lot of that stuff back in the mid to late 80s and early 90s that really didn’t catch on in other promotions and the indie circuit until years later. A lot of people only watched the WWF back then though and WWF guys worked a much different style with far less emphasis on work rates.
