No running back had better patience or vision. No running back was better at getting in the end zone either.
salute that

at the same time there had to be lanes being made for him to be patient & utilize his vision

in another scenario that patience & vision could be made to look like indecision & incompetence

as i said he made the best of what was placed before him

A washed 35 year old Emmitt Smith put up 937 yards with the Arizona Cardinals only a year after missing most of his age 34 season with the Cardinals after he suffered a separated shoulder in his return to Dallas. I'll never forget Roy Williams was the one to put him out.

fukk all those what ifs. No running back was better at scoring touchdowns either. He wasn't a product of the line either. If others were more skilled, why didn't they put up better numbers?

I guess the team feeds you at the goal line more than they really should....

shyt I dunno. I can’t make sense of it either
We see it all the time in today's league how bad teams are at running the ball in from at the goal line or even inside the 5. Emmitt was the best at getting in the end zone when you needed to punch it in from that distance.

Emmit was among the best decision makers with the ball in his hands in NFL history. A combination of patience, low center of gravity and always making the right decision, along with durability makes him a top 10 back.

I still put Walter, Barry, AD, Eric dikkerson, Billy Sims (if he played longer :to: ), and Gale over him.

I'm so tired of hearing the offensive line made Emmitt Smith. :camby:

Larry Allen came after Emmitt had already won 3 consecutive rushing titles. None of the other dudes on the line ever made a Pro Bowl until Emmitt got there. Dallas didn't have a 1,000 yard rusher the year before Emmitt arrived or the year after Emmitt left for Arizona.

Both Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith only played with ONE Hall of Fame lineman. This narrative that Barry's line was trash needs to die. Barry played with multiple pro bowlers on the line.

Also why is longevity and teammates held against Emmitt but not Jerry RIce? fukk the double standards. Emmitt doesn't get the credit he deserved because he played for the Dallas Cowboys.
So we putting cowboys and lions oline on the same level?

Obviously not but the Lions o-line wasn't complete trash like people say it is just like the Cowboys line wasn't as all time good as it was hyped up to be. The Cowboys line from Zeke's rookie year was better in my opinion. My whole point wasn't to compare lines, it's to disprove that Emmitt was only good because of his o-line.
