Why should Bowles be fired?
He's failing at what he's supposed to be good at (his defense). Some of the shyt that happened can't be held against him (Mo turning into a dog, Revis falling off, Sheldon not giving a damn), but clearly he didn't know how to utilize the talent he had. He never makes adjustments and never seems to have the team prepared (and in this season, these players straight up quit in games, especially at home). It looks more and more like the 10 win season he had was a fluke and a result of a cake schedule. Now, I didn't think there was any way he could avoid what was gonna happen to the Jets this season, but too many games they rolled over and died and that was on him. He put too much on the line banking on Fitz repeating last season.
Worst of all, his personality makes him look weak. It's one thing to be quiet and win. They'll leave you alone in this city, but if you're losing and you give people the same bullshyt excuses every week, they'll eat you alive in this city.
But as I said, he'll stay. He's a good guy with what we know is a garbage roster, but more importantly, this team can't keep going through coaches in a short period of time because it makes the job that much more unattractive (it's already one of the bad jobs in football because of a lot of things, including the fact that the owner doesn't really know what he's doing). He won't last longer than next season unless he AND the team commit fully to a rebuild, and ownership seems to believe we can't handle that (but that's because Woody Johnson can't stomach it)
