:laff: So the only reason they're banning them is because they're "non-standard"? What makes these non-standard? Because they just started being used in the past few seasons? GTFOH!!!

Goodell and the slave drivers he caters to are a joke. :laff:

The Bane mask bars makes it almost impossible for it to be grabbed and pulled and now a small segment of players are forced to go back to where the traditional grabbable facemask. It wasn't like there was any real advantage to the Bane mask other than the look really (imo), I also didn't realize there were even others wearing these types of masks, I thought it was just Tuck. I bet Tuck will fight this and invent a medical condition no way does he give his mask up without a fight.

From an article last year about Tuck's mask:

Tuck, who has suffered from neck injuries during his career, believes the tighter cage on this facemask will prevent opponents from grabbing onto it and jerking his head around.

I'm sure he'll use that reasoning to try and keep it.

At least they didnt need a RULE just to get black coaches even interviewed like the NFL did. If it wasnt for that rule that good ol' boy network would probably have less than the 2 black coaches they have now
Fair enough. But black nfl players should have been pushing harder. the Steelers owner does not have to say "Hey there are not black coaches!!" Before nikkas get upset.

Wake.
This really have yall mad or is it just another reason to hate on Goodell/the league?

The crackdown on celebratons I'm all for rallying against but I could not care any less about what the facemasks look like.

Because celebrations tie into the entertainment aspect of the game. Any change that makes the game even a little less entertaining I'm probably gonna look down on. This facemask thing is nothing though.

:snoop:

My bad, I read it wrong. I thought you were saying the opposite.

That's kinda the point right? Why in the hell should the NFL care what type of facemask these guys wear? Other than maybe not getting poked in the eye or getting your head torn off, what competitive advantage does it give the player?

This is just so dumb and just another power move from Goodell

no advantage ?
you already said it's impossible to grab, i mean it's not an advantage i'll give you that-but you're not gonna get someone facemasking you and twisting your neck all outta shape. that's preventive measures :troll:
it's just safety :manny:
